The 2015 "I'm so sick of winter" thread
Its been a billion below most of February. It may not warm up until June at this rate. Then I see on Facebook pics of guys driving nice FD's in the snow in Virginia. Not smart.
I'm so sick of winter.

Big difference east and west - we've had a few days in the 15-17C range the last 3 weeks; even in the mountains, there's a lot less snow than usual. One of the ski hills in the Rockies SW of Calgary closed for the season last weekend, barring that there's some major snow - the lower mountain's already bare.

Yeah, I actually snuck the 7 out for drive a couple weeks ago - and I've had a chance to run the A/C in all the cars, mostly for the sake of lubing the seals, but I actually had it running for real in traffic downtown last Friday in the 6 - it wasn't enough to have the windows down.

I try to run my A/C each time, too. It's going to be over a month of sitting at this point, though.

Provided you did some prep work before the winter season, she can sit for very long periods of time.
Before you even attempt to take her out for the new season, you gotta do the basics (usually oil and plugs).
As long as you do these small things, she'll be prepped to go for the new season.
Hopefully in another few years I'll be able to find some work down south. I've had my fair share of winter. Enough is enough.

I agree, im so sick of winter at this point. I have been plowing snow for what seems a month straight and there's close to 4ft of snow in my yard and the piles are getting up to 10ft tall. It's cold and making it very hard to get motivated to finish building my car before summer....

Yeah it sucks.... I'm jealous of those driving all year round
Oh wait
The best way I stored my mom's FD was running 91 or 94 in the tank prior to storing it and then I use a vacuum nipple on the top of the UIM and feed oil into it so the internals are well oiled. I still start it every month or so just for for keeping me happy. The oil thing I use on the FC in Guyana due to the constant exposure to sea air, this keeps the internals from seizing up. Or you could just fill the plug holes with fogging oil so it wont lock.

I get jealous when I see guys driving their cars all year 'round we get a solid 3 months and that's it, I am totally with you for moving, I can handle rain as long as I get 350 days of driving. Before you start it for the season do you hand crank the motor a couple times? Kinda shake off the "sitting" factor?
That poor FD. No one should have to drive their car in this brutal winter.

I have yet to find a proper winter beater to replace it during the winter, so here I am lol. But It's not like I neglect it in the winter! I always wash it and the rust proofing on it is very well done.
Besides, I'm moving to South Korea for the summer, so I won't be able to drive her for 2-3 months and unless we get some better weather in April, I don't even know if we have tracking weather till May!

Just as we were thinking we are coming to an end we are getting 3 storms one after another starting with a 20cm storm sunday night.......When will it all be over!!!
Could be worse though, I could be living in New Brunswick lol...

Can't even grasp that much snow. A heavy snow event in Calgary is 15cm. 30cm is enough to pretty much close the city for a day. But we have a quite arid climate here, especially in the winter months. I remember reading years ago that 8 months out of the year (generally Sept.-April), Calgary is less humid and gets less rainfall than the Arabian desert. If not for snowfall in the mountains and melt water, this would be a desert.
