I guess its important to note that the engine is done I popped a seal cruising down the express way!???

Any Info. would help!!!

It is best to store a car on jacks - not just to avoid flat spotting the tires, but the wheel bearings can be distorted and the grease squeezed out causing metal to metal contact when they are turned again.
I do store my 7 in the winter, but don't put it on jacks - instead, I take it for a drive every 3-4 weeks to make sure the bearings as well as the motor and drivetrain get spun and lubricated, so seals don't get worn out or seized. Of course, if the motor's popped this probably isn't possible, so you do what you can. One thing that's good to do with piston engine cars being stored is to squirt some oil in thru the spark plug holes to help keep the cylinder walls and rings from rusting and seizing - I'm not to sure if there's any validity to this with a rotary tho', as you'd have to turn the motor over by hand to oil each face of the rotor to have any meaningful effect. Storing it somewhere dry, if not actually warm will help prevent condensation from forming in the engine, again potentially seizing it. Make sure the fuel tank is full, and add fuel stabilizer, for the same reason. Remove the battery and store it indoors - it'll go flat in just a couple or three weeks.

if it's allready been sitting that long.. not sure what ou can do now..

DRAIN THE GAS OUT OF IT OMG1 is probably the most important thing. gas gets NASTY when it sits. there's a boltt at the bottom of the tank you can pul.

make sure it's sitting somewhere dry, your back yard isn't the best place; indoors is ideal.

if you don' thave time to work on it for some time yet and its allready been sitting a while - I don't think you have much to worry about tire wise, they're probably allready toast, and they certainly will be after sitting for several more years.

the best thing to do would be to get it up on stands, pull the wheels, wrap the hubs in something (when its DRY outside), leave the wheels at least inside, assuming you can't get the whole car in.

usually turbo engines don't die cruising, sorry about the luck

Yeah it hurts, .................................................. ...still

It is currently in my Garage....................................again!!! !!!!!!!!

The Turbo was on since at least 1987/8. . Also It was sitting for 3 yrs prior too summer 2003 and took me a full day of changing plugs(wet/dry) and re chargeing the Batt to get it going.

The tire are the old zr1's that are no longer in prouction, and needed replacement anyways.

I lost compression at about 120, going from Kitchener to Woodstock(just prior to exit) and was able to drive it back home (70km's or so). I could start it weeks after the fact too, but was unsure If I would damage anything esle so I didn't continue that!!!!

I think it was a matter of time!!!!!!!!!.........................or so I keep telling myself!!

if its gonna be cold and you are not using strong antifreeze drain the coolant out of the keg (the 14mm bolt near the oilpan on the middle plate filler neck side)
