Exclamation 1993 Cdn Market 25th Anniversary FD

Hello all,
Been quite some time since I have posted here. Hope everyone is keeping well and worshiping successfully at the alter of Mazda and the mighty rotary.
Just looking to tap into the deep knowledge of everyone here... does anyone have any information on what this 25th Canadian Market special edition RX-7 consisted of?
Thanks in advance

Thats simple. It was the Canadian edition of the USA R1. Only offered in Black and had a few 25th anni Canada decals plastered around the car and the floor mats. Otherwise, exactly what the Americans got when they ordered an R1.

I managed to dig up the 25th anni brochure I picked up back in the day. They kept quiet about the true package it was.
Regardless, the 93’s were the only Canadian vehicles to receive true R1 packages. We never got the R2 packages of the following years..

I heard that it was up to the dealers to put the decals on, they came tucked in the owners manual. So look in the glovebox, you might get lucky.

It seems there were 25th anniversary versions of various of the models that year.

Likely you would see them in the same brochure.

25th Anniversary MPV, ftw!

I wonder if the Canadian R1 had a USDM vin number?

Or the CDNDM features such as headlight washers?

That’s correct. There were 25th anni versions for the entire lineup at the end of that year.

We had an Mpv of 96. The colour for the anni version was very military in appearance. Lol

The Canadian FD’s still followed the trim levels stated for us. Meaning the 25th anni version was an R1 so they never got headlight washers since that feature only belonged to the Touring version.
My 94 doesn’t have them either since mine was considered the PEP package. Which in Canada for that year was considered the touring. Our top trim was called premium that year. No idea why they renamed the packages but alas…

Unfortunately, I dont feel the market adds much value for very rare Canadian oddball editions. Also alas.

But a Canadian base cym must be one of the rarest. sub-variants

I heard once (without verification) that Ireland got their own gauge cluster and maybe only seven Irish spec FD ever existed.

Just happened to meet a local FD owner tonight who has an actual 1993 25th anniversary edition. He mentioned that cruise control and deluxe carpets were also a feature of the Canadian 25th anniversary edition. He mentioned no rear wiper or front headlight washer. But the car also has the DRL set up found in Canadian cars. He will send me a pic of the VIN.

His car increases the count of FD within 5 miles of my house to 29.(twenty -nine).

(*DRL = Daytime running light)
