1988 FC NA auto question

Hello all,

I just bought a 1988 FC, NA, auto, seemingly bone stock engine wise. The car doesn't start due to a bad starter. I am planning on doing a engine and transmission swap. MY question is should I buy a starter to start the engine so I could sell it? Is it worth fixing? Is anyone interested in the engine? Or should I just pull the engine cause it's worth next to nothing (The starter is about $100). Also I will probably be pulling the carpeting, door panels and maybe the seats in a month or so. Let me know if you are interested

You could probably get $300-400 for the complete engine if it is indeed running and just needs a starter

Even if it's auto?

Engine is the same regardless if it's an automatic or manual transmission.
