We've got those at my dad's work (a catering company) and while they *say* 8-12 hrs, you're really looking at 4-6hrs... God knows what their idea of "fresh" is

I prefer the hundred cup thermoses... but I couldn't see fitting one properly into the hatch of a 7.

Well, I've never personally had coffee more than a couple hours old from one, so I couldn't say, but we'll just have to drive fast to deliver the coffee...

And yeah, the 120 won't fit in my car, unless I leave the wife at home...

**NOTE FOR THOSE JOINING THE SUNDAY CRUISE**

Try to bring an FRS (Family Radio Service) radio for the cruise. This is a hand-held, short range, two-way radio that many of use to communicate between cars. The units are cheap and commonly available (and invaluable if you need assistance, or spot something that you need to warn others about.)

Try to find a unit that uses an earpiece. Without one, trying to find a place to set the unit where you can hear it while your stereo is blaring and your engine's roaring away, and where it won't slide around or roll over, is a PITA.

I posted that link so that people could see what they look like. I have no suggestions beyond what to buy other than try to get a model that has or can use an earphone. Canadian Tire is *not* the only place that sells them. If you don't like the prices, look around more.

I guess getting something with privacy channels would help too

It won't matter. We're cruising rural highways and the radios don't have a useful range much beyond a kilometer (despite the claims on the packaging.) We'll be dots on the horizon before anyone notices our chatter.

As long as we give Frank his own private channel, that no one else uses

I have a spare if anyone needs one.
It's an old cobra, but it'll work over short distances... I don't think it can use an earpiece tho...
I'll check later...

smnc, that is a good idea.
i think if anyone has a spare(s) FRS, just bring it along if you don't mind. that way no one will be left out.

Between Eric and I we have four, but they are only the 3km range cobras without the earpiece or privacy channels.

Helps to have a co-pilot if you don't have the earpiece, and hopefully we won't use privacy channels or I'll be SOL.

Jon

Let's just drop all talk about privacy channels. We won't need them and we won't be using them - it's a waste of space to fuss about them here. If your radio has privacy channels and you choose to use them, you're going to be chatting with your windshield b/c the rest of us will probably be on channel 7.
