^ just cleaning and prepping. The more of that you do the better everything will turn out.

Small victory, got the Haltech on the parts car to finally connect with my laptop...

Makes me appreciate AEM's lol. Honestly though, everything's pretty similar just not quite as 'user friendly' on the Haltech. It is a pretty old unit and their old software though. I'll adapt.

I could have spent months getting this stuff clean as new but then I'd feel bad if I ever had an off at the track lol!

Ready to go back home...

Sphericals tacked in...

Extended studs, check.

DTSS eliminator

Adj camber link...

Fitted loosely till I figure out the length...

Toe eccentric eliminator tig'd in place...

Front crossmember cleaned/painted/reinstalled...

More to come...

DTSS is Mazda's Dynamic Tracking Suspension System. It used a special bushing with a half spherical insert that would react in different ways under different types of loading to produce a slight toe steer in the rear. There is always much debate about whether it is a good thing or not. If you learn how to use it, it can be said to improve the vehicle's handling. Many people do replace it, as it reacts in ways that aren't necessarily difficult to predict, just something drivers with experience in many types of cars may not expect.

The fact that I believe new bushings are NLA and the system does deteriorate with age are two good reasons to replace it these days. To keep or not to keep is a personal preference, but is sometimes dictated by what you want to use the car for.

You can see the DTSS eliminator bushing he has is a rigid piece of plastic with a metal sleeve. The bushing will have no flex and thus the hub carrier will not change orientation under load as a DTSS equipped hub carrier would.

kind of a few pages back but how did you undo the spot welds when you got rid of your speaker mounts on the rear strut towers?

When I did mine I used a special drill bit and then a dremel for the hard to reach ones. You can also use an air hammer with a chisel bit, though you're more likely to tear the metal.

I used this thing, just center punch in the middle of the spot weld and this works awesome... http://www.harborfreight.com/3-8-eig...ter-95343.html

Mazda never sold the bushings separate, you have to buy the aluminum thing they are in, for $500 a side

Not sure yet. Want to weld it 'shut' but I'd probly warp it all to hell. Might just do a 'plug', don't really want all that weight up there as I'm not too into sunroof/moonroofs anyhow.

Im trying to figure out how I can just have my sunroof panle without the railing and moter mechanism. but I want to make it detachable coz I like to have a sun roof on realy nice days. so I would have to figure out how to make it so it dosent leak.

Did you have to remove the hubs to install the extended studs?

Took the parts car out for a spin since I think the next step is transferring stuff over. Had to get some shots of their first meeting lol

Hey rms Im sorry I dont have any pictures of it but I just found that I have rust patches running along were my rocker panle meets my floor bords in side my car. I was scraping away the seem sealer and I have a few little spots were everything in betwween the seem sealer and the under coating of the car is rust and I can punch right through the floor and make little holes like as big as the tip of my pinky. there are about three patches like this on each side of the car. Do you know what the best way of fixing them would be?
