Search. Search. Search. It's been done before. If you look you'll find several build threads. As far as mounting, it's not bad. People sell mounts if you look hard enough, and they can make adapter plates for the trans to bolt to the motor.

Google is your friend.

Example #1

Brett at Swap1UZ.com can fabricate mounts/brackets/adapters to your application needs.

Thanks corifto. The internet tough guy is above you. Why even post something just to run your mouth. I've been getting an education since I was 16, so I can pay someone else to do it. Gods and claudes

If my fc was fwd I'd drive in reverse

Not tring to knock your idea on the swap but the 1uzfe has never really impressed me. Nor has the price of the swap for the whole 245 hp maybe you get to the wheels.

If your really going to go V8 just do a lsx or at least a 3uzfe swap in stead just my 2 cents tho.

Thanks for the enthusiasm. And what specifically would make it impossible?

If my fc was fwd I'd drive in reverse, and I am already hazardous moving forward. And if the focus could somehow move from arc reactors to rotors, the world might be a safer place.

I attempted a swap a while back, had to back out because of funding/time. The engine fits very well and the only interference I can remember is the proportioning valve would hit the back valve cover.

my old build.

there have been a few 1uz FC builds with more success than mine. I would suggest heading to Lexus-Toyota V8 Performance Forum for more information about builds and what people have done for different solutions.

Best piece of advice for the project, make sure you have a plan.

forget mounting it can be done...BUT have you looked at the price of making that motor manual? there is technically no manual transmission for it....(although people make make conversion kits).... trust me Im in the process of collecting parts for a 1uz swap into a Cressida (where it fits quite nicely from what I've Seen) anyway its a good motor not alot of upgrades but there is some and its a good way to stay "JDM"

Truthfully, anything is possible with enough money. I've never seen this particular swap, but I'm sure if you were committed enough and could fund it and bring the right talents to bear, either yours or that of others, you could do it.

That being saad, this seems an oddball choice of V8; why this particular engine? If I wanted a V8 RX7 I'd go with something easier to source parts for. That on is going to be more challenging to convert to manual and get running than it is to physically put it in the car and at the end of the day you will have a less powerful car than had you done something like an LS.

There is a manual for the car, you use the Supra R154 manual transmission. I believe you have to use the SC400 bell housing to make it work, don't quote me on that though.

I was in the process of making an adapter for the T56 transmission, however, never got around to it. The best place for transmission adapters would be THOR racing as they specialize in the 1UZ supra swaps (Manual Gearbox Conversion - Thor Racing & Garage Services (Coventry))

Go to lextreme.com seriously, there is a wealth of information there that can easily answer your questions.

Yes, the engine is an oddball, I tried doing it to see if it would fit. And it does. So why not?

Your estimate of $600 for everything over and above the cost of the engine is not realistic.
Installing the engine/trans is not only the fastest and easiest part of the project, it's not even the most expensive.
The phrase "nickeled and dimed to death" was invented to describe projects like this.

The 1uz swap would be sick. And it has been done on here. A guy made a full build thread of evthing you need and how to do it using a t2 tranny. Just search untill you find it and should answer all your questions

well it all depend one your resources and ability me being a fabricator and welder slash wiring person I can do a lot with a little and turn things out. going that route I wouldn't have to do much mount kit and wiring then mount a radiator and drive shaft.

Fuel pump, exhaust?

Does your transmission have a cable drive for the speedo?
What about the tach?

CO has some pretty comprehensive emission requirements as well, how expensive to meet them?

Finally, in general what is the condition of the rest of the car?
You won't be needing to fix up the suspension, brakes, tires, etc. to handle the new powerplant?
