Time for little update.
Car is still running, suprisingly.

Saturday i made some mounting for engine torque damper, worked well.

Tune is still not final, but useable.

Yesterday took it to first trackday and new problem arised - fuel leaking from tank cap area.....no chance to find out why yet (cant open the cover due to melted rod), but consequences were bit fire alarming....

So far i am on stock FD ECU on stock FD engine harness, including stock boost solenoids.....

can you please elaborate here?

did you make a jumper harness for the FC dash plug, or repin the thing to an FD dash plug?

Yeah, i did some jumper harness to be able to keep all harnesses as they were, in case i would want to use them somewhere else (whenever it means putting motor into FD or reverting car back to stock TII)

Another update after second trackday.

Mounted RE-A carbon diffuser, so far it holds ok on the car :)

Fuel leak fixed by installing o-ring on cap (oh well)

New problem : PS rack blew after 2 hours into trackday, confusingly filling both boots with steering fluid. I am not sure what could be cause, untill now i had zero issues with that rebuilt rack and zero leaks.
All of sudden it lost power and all fluid was gone. Waiting for new rebuild kit to arrive, then i will take it apart and hopefully will find the root of the problem. Mireck suggested sticking pressure regulator in PS pump might have caused it.
Will have to make adapter and measure pressure going into rack.

Fluid leaking from both sides is pretty unusual. I'd definitely suspect too much pressure from the pump.

My previous rack liked to leak from the drivers side. After two (three?) times rebuilding it myself I gave up and purchased a rebuilt rack.

I just discovered my rack is leaking from the driver side. No noticeable change in operation it seems.

If it's a slow enough leak, it should keep working as long as you top off the fluid.

Once the leak gets large enough the fluid will take the path of least resistance, and escape the rack rather than pushing on the piston like it's supposed to. That's when you start feeling it in the wheel.

It blew up during the run, instant loss of power asist. Waiting for rebuild kit to arrive, before i take it apart and diagnose.

so what jumper did you use? the only one I see is a straight across one? the plugs are different between FC and FD right?

You need to compare wiring harness for your car with emission harness and decide what u want to use and how.
There is no PnP solution for that and each case will be different, depending on model and mods.
Its not too complicated if you go wire by wire.

Banzai offers a harness, and actually full kits. 86-91 RX-7 Engine Management
it seems expensive, but it does skip all the time figuring it out.

Mike
I am not sure this is what OP looks for. I believe he was looking into running FD engine with FD harness in FC, while Banzai harness listed is only for installing FD ECU in FC with FC harness.....
