NH Soul's 1986 FC RX-7 GXL

Recently picked up this car from a gentleman in RI, if you recognize it point me to his user name (I lost his number) so I can find the old build thread!





Mods and Upgrades:

Engine and Performance:
-streetport (previous owner, around 110k miles)
-K&N cone filter (previous owner; filthy as hell, will replace with stock airbox)
-full Racing Beat exhaust, except for racing car (previous owner; forget cat brand)

Chassis, Suspension, and Handling:
-Racing Beat springs (previous owner)
-KYB AGX struts and shocks (previous owner)
-BBS wheels from convertible (previous owner; need center caps)


Drivetrain:


Brakes:


Exterior:
-factory rear spoiler (previous owner)
-aluminum hood from a later model (previous owner)

Interior:
-turbo seats and door cards (previous owner; will have seats reupholstered)
-Pioneer stereo (previous owner; will upgrade later)
-alarm system (previous owner)


Future Mods and Upgrades (in the order I'm likely to do them):
-SUSPENSION SUSPENSION SUSPENSION SUSPENSION

-loads of chassis bracing
-heaps of alignment parts
-upgrade swaybars and endlinks
-possibly downgrade springs to something a touch taller and softer
-grounding kit
-premium spark plug wires
-stainless steel brake lines
-sport brake pads
-upgrade stereo and speakers


Repairs and Additions:

Engine and Performance:
-engine rebuilt (previous owner, around 110k miles)

Chassis, Suspension, and Handling:


Drivetrain:
-Exedy clutch (previous owner, around 110k miles)

Brakes:


Exterior:


Interior:
-cleaned window switch contacts


Future Repairs (To-Do list):

Engine and Performance:
-spark plugs
-replace filthy K&N cone filter with stock airbox
-fix cruise control
-examine and simplify bad aftermarket wiring

Chassis, Suspension, and Handling:
-replace squeaky shock tops

Drivetrain:
-diagnose apparent driveline slack, improve if practical
-rebuilt LSD if needed

Brakes:
-fluid flush needed!

Exterior:
-replace missing plastic pieces below and on the left of the right side headlight

Interior:
-replace broken air vents
-replace broken ash tray
-fix temperamental light switch
-replace incorrect wiper controls (have parts)

Keep the RB springs and AGXs.
I've had that setup for 6 years now and it's a great compromise between ride comfort and handling.
If the ride is a bit harsh for you, check the damper settings. I keep them at full soft (1) for daily driving.

Thanks! I won't judge the current shock/spring setup until I sort out some other chassis related things.

It seems I can't edit my post after 30 minutes, this running list style I use on other forums might be useless. @_@ Hopefully this is just a restriction based on post count.
