S5 DD drift car

So I felt it was time I started my own thread now that I have somewhat of a solid base. I have a 1991 N/A FC3S. This car has power everything. The goal is build reliable DD that can be used for occasional drifting. Power I'm looking for to get about 450hp to the wheels when it's all done.

From: Vriginia,
The plan attack I have for this is to start with chassis/suspension/brakes then from there I'll working on the power plant(13BT swap) I know that tuning is a major part in the power plant but I was thinking of

a FEED hybrid Turbo
full HKS exhaust system(manifold, down pipe,HP exhaust)
SARD BOV
RE intercooler
Mazdatrix engine stud kit
Higher compression rotors with side cutting for higher boost
HKS twin power
Haltech standalone + IQ3
ACPT driveshaft
OS twin clutch
I'm still working out the details but any advice or parts you guys think I should invest to help make the build more reliable as a DD let me know

Stock fuel rails will support your power goals if you wanted to use them.

Clean car.

Ok thanks for that information save me some money. So why do some enthusiast use super now or any aftermarket rail for that matter? Is it because aftermarket ones like super now are more efficient

I would assume because they support higher power levels and they use a standard AN thread size?
I'm not well versed in aftermarket fuel rails/an fittings.

ok that makes sense anything you can think of to add to the power plant list to work with the setup I want

Stock S4 T2 fuel rails will work since you can remove the FPR, you can't on S5's. That's not enough fuel, injector wise and pump wise. I suggest you poke around the Single Turbo section on here. Howard Coleman has done some great write ups in there on sizing fuel systems and other things.

Where are you in VA?

SOooo i ran into a new problem to add the list of fix ups on the car. smoke coming from the center console.(precisely at the base of center console where its meets shifter boot cover. The smell is rather bland it doesnt smell like plastic. and with the windows open you barely notice it(visual wise).I noticed it cause I saw my shifter going crazy.(needs new spring/bushing) while I was running through the systems on the car to checking to see what was/r wasn't working.I saw smoke wasn't coming out at alarming rate it was rather steady stream of smoke. But the car still has the stock exhaust and i doesnt look like its been messed with EVER. On top of that some of hangers are pretty warn so the exahust rattles a bit on acceleration. I did do some searching and it seems them most common cause is exahust leak.Praying thats all it is. But my boy Phil said he smelled coolant. And my third is option is that i could be burning tranny fluid due to a small leak because a aftermakret clutch was put in recently before i bought it. Any suggestions?

I would go with a bigger turbo like a 6266 and get a custom exhaust made. I am pretty sure the piping on the hks will restrict you My suggestion would be a aeromotive A 1000 fuel pump and a FPR along with 720 primaries and 1600 or 2000 secondaries. You say you want a reliable drift car with 450 hp? why such a high power goal if i might ask? A 300-350 whp fc is plenty.

If you want a reliable turbo rotary you should realy get water injection.

Thanks for the injector advice I'll go with 720 x 1600 setup, and I recently decided on A1000 fuel pump. For the FPR I had decided to go with NISMO but I'm starting to rethink to that decision. 450 whp a wishful goal but when the build is done I'm expecting low 400 (something around 413 or 420)

From: Vriginia,
Update

my new Goal is 400rwhp, But I would like to run the car at low boost(or what ever level puts me at 350 rwhp) since its going to be a DD car. After a bit more research and head scratching this is the setup i came up with. The theme is to stick to the classic "bolt-on" upgrades. Trying to keep a somewhat stock looking setup. Basically whatever route has the least amount of fabrication. That said here is the new Parts List;*along with support mods*

S5 TII Motor (studded) +trans.ecu.harness etc.
Side-cut Rotors ( for higher boost applications)
strengthened Apex seals 2mm
Full Large Street Port
RE TMIC +( upgraded piping Dynamat Hoodliner to help with heat soak and hood pins
BNR stage 4 Turbo and will paying the extra service for WG actuator
RE Turbo manifold + exhaust wrap
RE cat + wideband 02
HKS 3' exhaust
Koyo Radiator U flow + upgraded hoses
Water injection
PR Competition oil Pan(7 qt capacity)
FCD
725cc pri 1000cc sec
RE plug wires
Super Now secondary fuel rail
Walbro 400lph
NISMO FPR
RE Response Kit
RE Redom mini C
OS twin Clutch + Flywheel ( driveshaft with be made by ACPT)
Underive Pulley

Now question have are is my goal achievable with this setup? are there any support mods advice you can give me about running this setup? (one other support mod i have in my mind is the HKS twin Power) Also is there any benefit to running dual BOVs(hot side/cold side)? if so what else would i need to support this mod? and last question (for this post) would re routing all the wires and throwing in a ground kit/earthing system be worth the hassle?(In your opinion)

Thanks for your help and knowledgeable insight.

You plan on throwing this much money into the pit, but you aren't going to get a standalone?

Twin power is a good idea since you want stronger spark to keep up with high boost and water injection.

+ what injectors are you planning on getting? If you are looking at Injectod dynamic, the 1000cc cost the same as 725cc, so i would just get 4*1000cc, they hold idle just fine if you input the right settings.

I don't know of anyone in my area nor do I feel like paying someone for tuning. The reason I decided to Redom is strictly for the plug and play type deal.Originally I had considered Haltech though but this route would be less of a headache

It's been awhile since I posted and and even longer year of parts hunting. But down to bussiness I decided to officially title this build "Project G3". That being said this the goal is to turn daily drifting(two words that shouldn't be used together) machine. Right now the deadline is May 1st to finish up my suspension and chassis work at the very least then I'll start hunting for a TII drivetrain. Here are a few pics of some of the new parts I acquired some are still being refinished so I'll takes pics of those later .

Refinished rear sub frame and calipers and control arms
