S5 a/c center vents swap on S4

I have a s4 fc and I don’t really like the look and functionality of the a/c center vents. I really want to swap them and put s5 vents on but I’m not sure if it will fit. It looks like the s5 center vents are a separate piece of their own while the s4 vents look like they are connected to the bottom a/c and blower adjusters. And the shape of the s5 dash around the vents looks like it is different than the s4. Will you be able to easily swap s4 center vents for the s5 vents or will you need to do some cutting and modifying?

The radio trim and the vents must match, but they are in fact separate parts.

You can select for the 89-91 model and CD option if necessary, then you also need:

And I believe last you need:

I don't know for certain whether you need the shifter bezel, but the fact the S5 part has a different number implies that you do.

AFAIK that's everything, but I would do some searching too. S5 swaps (interior, driveline, bumpers, everything) onto S4 chassis are fairly common. I'm sure someone out there has asked the same question.

Try googling: "Rx7 S5 dash swap site:www.rx7club.com"

The S4 will work and IIRC cosmetically it looks almost identical though the shift boot itself is slightly different but that too is cosmetic. The S4 shifter bezel is hard plastic where the S5 is a different material and somewhat flexible. I have used the S4 one in my S5 on occasion when my shift boot wore out and I had picked up the S4 one out of the junkyard. To just look at it the only give away without actually touching the bezel (because the material feels different) is the way the top of the shift boot is made. The S4 has a little split and a leather tie the S5 does not.
