s4 s5 center console
So someone tryed to steal my stereo awhile back and succeeded only in breaking my lock and a big chunk out of the center console. I've got the lock replaced, but have yet to replace the center console. I was wondering how different the s5 versus s4 center console is and if they are at all interchangable.
I have an s4 and I've seen a couple guys in my area have s5 consoles they don't need, so I'm just wondering if that would work since I've yet to find anyone with an s4 console.

The S4 stereo surround is a POS. The sun makes them brittle, and then they'll just fall apart. The plastic vents also crack, and then all the little directional vanes fall out.
The S5 version is rubberized, so it won't crack on you, and the vent insert is more durable. As mentioned, they swap easily.

If you swap, you might want to pick up an S5 shifter bezel/surround as well. The S5 one is rubberized to match the rubberized radio surround frame.
By the way, when you say "center console," you mean radio surround frame, right? The consoles between the seats with the opening armrests actually are a little different from S5 to S4. You could probably use an S5 one in an S4, but there's a lot less space in it due to a different configuration for the S5's lap belt retractors.
