S5 1990 Turbo Swap
Hello everyone! I have been the owner of 90 gtu for going on two and half years now. Bought it the summer I graduated high school (yes im pretty young haha) and have loved every second of owning her. About this time last year my motor lost compression in the rear rotor and i contemplated selling it. I made the tough decision in rebuilding her myself. I tore it apart to find a spun bearing in the rear rotor and chrome flaking in the same housing. I bought another motor from a friend out of a running 7 and used those housings and other parts in better condition to make one solid motor. I bought my rebuild kit from Pineapple Racing and also bought the large streetport template for both the intake and exhaust, and bought RA classic apex seals. Did the porting my self as well! I have 6k on the motor now with great compression and a little BRAP in the exhaust note. I decided to finally post in this thread because i decided to go turbo and ran across a great deal on craigslist about a S5 turbo engine that "lock up." So I went to go look at it and the motor was already apart and it showed no signs of spun bearings but the bearing were worn pretty bad. But overall everything else looked really good. I also got a fuel cut and boost controller, new OEM main and rotor bearings and i almost forgot the intake side has a streetport done by Juge ITO???(never heard of them has anyone else???), turbo transmission and all the other goods, intake, turbo etc. Basically everything to put the motor back together. I picked it up for 600 bucks; which I feel is a pretty good deal. Im really excited about this new project and feel more confident on this build then the last. I will post up pictures of my last build and future build tomorrow. I hope you guys enjoy this and assist me on some questions that may come about.
Thanks, Sterling

It might be! I was just speculating is all; I was just going off what the gentleman said that sold me the motor. I mean the porting looks really good though also polished quite nicely as well! I'll have to get some parts from the new motor off my garage shelf and take some pics for you all!
