Very true, I started before I left... It'll be ok though. I think I might buy a parts washer... Also been researching ultrasonic transducers... maybe build my own parts washer with transducers built in... I'll hit that road when I get to it though...

Red face

Ya'll didn't think I forgot about this did ya? lol

I have been hard at work and ordering lots or parts but mostly have been doing more research, cleaning what I have and buying lots of tools... Can never have to many tools Next on the list is an air compressor, looking to snag one up for a good deal... I'm cheap lol!

Just got a set of s-4 rotors w/3mil & race bearings from a forum member here... one of the apex grooves got pushed in a little by the corner seal, is it safe to just bend it back? Is this a common practice like forum member told me?

Anyhow, I'll post lots of pics when I get home tonight... later

sounds like it got dropped.

there's no "bending back"

if it is interfering with the seals it will have to be sanded out to return it to spec.

Sorry, got backed up due to holiday stuff... plus really really sore from snowboardin lol!

This is my new base of operations Just cleaning stuff now, best results so far w/dawn and hot water... I have been trying some mineral spirits but it doesn't seem to work much better at all... But this all may turn out to be a fruitless effort since I just got a compressor today so I can start media blasting everything

Just got some sweet block off plates in the mail the other day, still waiting for omp block off from banzai racing and a mess of other parts...

Edit: how the crap is there carbon buildup all in the inside of the intake runners?!

Here is the new rotors I got in the mail from another forum member... You think these are still good? (should I still use them or try to send them back?)

Gee, thanks guys... Anywho, I didn't think I could use them and am sending them back. I did however have a friend e-mail me a link that helped a great GREAT deal... https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...tuck+side+seal

The ONLY way to get those stubborn sideseals out w/out wrecking the groove! Now I just gotta clean and paint a bit and decide on the kit and I'm on the way@!

Well time presses on as always... I got some more updates... Almost done w/the tranny, just gotta clean/paint the mount and it should be ready for action. Just waiting on a gasket to seal up the bottom pan and mazdatrix to get some shortshifters in from backorder ... lame... But in the meantime I have gotten the rust off of everything and painted to try to stop it from coming back again and got that pesky return to neutral spring replaced (Thanks Kyle ). Tried polishing for my first time on the bellhousing. I learned that polishing sucks lol!

What I am debating right now is what to do with the engine bay. I wanna get that wiring harness out of the way so I can paint, thinking about just hacking it and making one w/only the stuff I need on it... I did finally get a tig setup but may not seam weld afterall... I just wanna get somewhere w/this but I also don't wanna rush either... whatever happens happens I guess...

Sorry it's been so long guys, but a lot got done... even though it seems to be never ending.... What really ticked me off was that I had to pull the motor again so sort out a clutch issue... Make sure it's right before putting them in people!

Here's where im at now... motor and trans finally in! Mazdatrix short shifter w/new return spring installed in trans and new pan gasket (thanks again kyle!)

Serpentine belt pulley installed on engine, new pilot and release bearings, a lot sandblasted and painted and baked in my oven lol Also, completely ripped the starter, cleaned all the old grime out (there was a lot!) And gave er some fresh grease

Got more suspension put together. I ended up getting some fd rims with decent tires for a good deal so I went with them. I'm thinking I may have them powder coated white after I am done...

New MMR bushings and everything is finally clean! New ball joints to bb! lol! Also snagged a decent set of HKS hypermax D coilovers from a good friend in japan... I'm so lucky I got a good deal on these! 32 way adjustable, not that I need it...

Edit: forgot to mention in the above thread, the banzai oil pan brace. I think it's really solid and worth it... there emissions kits are worth it to... I feel like im forgetting to say a lot... sorry

Did you put the clutch in backwards, is that why you had to pull the motor out?

thanks guys. And I thought it must have been in backwards since it was my first time and didn't really know what I was doing but once it was apart it all looked correct... dunno what it was.... Put it back together again and it's fine... don't get it, something was weird there...
