Very nice progress!! The engine bay is super clean looking. I had to laugh at your expense a bit watching you wrestle in the engine, I've been there before LOL. If installing on jackstands under the car is your plan for the trans, make sure there are no women and children around because your not going to be using appropriate language.

Thanks! The struggle was real lol. I ended up getting some ratchet straps to help line the motor up. But this damn trans is gonna be a pain in the ***. Back in the day I could do a trans swap in no time, but that was ages ago. It's a different story now.

nice!

Loving the progress as well. The clean work is inspiring to be meticulous with my own build.

If you don't mind me asking, what tape did you use to wrap the harness? I see its not normal electrical tape, but something more rugged looking.

Thank you! The harness tape I used was made by Tesa. It's a high temp. self vulcanizing harness tape. I also used a mix DEI heat shrink tubing.

Happy belated 7s day!

Totally forgot to update yesterday, but the car is alive! I took it to work yesterday (a 1.5 hour one way commute!) and it did a fantastic job. Now to stack up the miles for the break-in and I'll soon be out on the track.

Half the pics did not load

This car looks like it would be one of those things think to yourself you should own when it pulls up next to you. Then it leaves you at the light wondering if you should have put more into what cannot be seen. Nice

The down pipe is super clean. I am in need of a new one and so I am seeing them everywhere now and truly appreciative.

Damn, thanks for the heads up. After having a photobucket account for at least 10 years it seems they've changed their policy and now you need to pay in order to host your pictures on 3rd party sites. Welp, I'll have to fix that somehow. What a bummer.

But thanks for the feedback! Right now the car is low key, but it's going to look pure race car once it gets painted and I finish the body work. But that'll be a little while. I'm happy to have it running finally.

yeah, im following this build man. Great job. Also how well is your transmission mount holding up with he auto to manual swap? I took a different approach to adapting the trans.

Sorry for the late reply! I have taken a break this month from the build to enjoy summer time with family and friends.

Anyways, the trans mount I've had for 10 years. Still hanging in there surprisingly, but I will be working on my own design in the near future.

Curious to how the car is doing, and what downpipe did you end up going with?

Turns out my NA motor is getting ready to kick the bucket.

Yo! My bad, haven't been active on the forum lately. After labor day I'm gonna get back into the swing of things. Actually...

Quick Update! Break-in period is almost done! One good thing about having a long commute to work is finishing this break-in period in record time lol. I'll probably be done by next week. I've been following the 4,000 mile break-in procedure. I'm currently at about 3,500 miles. The motor has been doing great, I drive it in lots of stop and go traffic and high way miles. So, it's getting good exposure to everything. I haven't pushed it super hard yet. I did push to 6,000 rpms recently at about 75% throttle and it felt great! However, I still haven't found someone to help me finish the intercooler/BOV setup so I'm not running a BOV at the moment. Hence, why I'm not doing anything too crazy.

As for the exhaust, I've been running a corksport 3" downpipe into an old 5 zigen single exit exhaust. It's waaaay too loud. Even with a high flow cat it's too loud. I tried straight pipe at first, then high flow but still no dice. So, I think I'm going to switch over to a racing beat REV TII setup. I want something a little loud, but not, ear ringing loud. As I drive the car I start to get a better picture of where I want it to be. I'll post some more videos in september explaining more details, but so far everything has been great. Just daily driving it, putting miles on it and making notes of all the things I want to improve.
