Exclamation Roman's Rotary

Hello and welcome. This is my first attempt at a build thread so bear with me. Maybe by posting on here will give me motivation to continue and finally finish my 7.
So here's the goods:

The Car -
1989 RX7 Turbo II white 5spd. Bought it as a rolling shell many moons ago and it sat outside for awhile. Ordered JDM engine + trans (1100 shipped, but was blown lol) Rebuilt and was working through some issues.

The Mods -
Stance Coilovers
Energy Suspension bushings
SS brake lines
SpeedBleeders (awesomeness)
ARP extended wheel studs
Blox extended Lug nuts
DTSS eliminator
Walbro 255L Fuel pump
ACT clutch + pressure plate
3" downpipe, exhaust
Apexi muffler (single exit, passenger side)
Relocate battery
Removed emissions
Removed A/C

The Bad -
Car has been sitting for quite awhile. Had a stock 91 TII (mentioned above) in it for a bit and blew rear rotor (not even having any fun with it). Bought 88 TII for $300 just to get me from A to B (was my only car at the time) and then car at for a few years in various storages and garages. Last year I moved it from storage to my garage. While pulling it, decided to see if it'll push start (dead battery, sitting for several years) and after several attempts it started up. Drove it home and realized brake pedal was on the floor. Car sat again for another year and is now in my garage (different one in a different state). Also, some Electrical and Vacuum gremlins all over.
Time sitting - WAY too long, even before all this sitting.

Decided now is the time, enough is enough.

The upcoming Mods -
Repaint engine bay
Manual Steering rack/ remove power steering
Remove ABS/ convert to Non-ABS
Standalone ECU/ rewire electrical to switches
Taurus Electric Fan
Taurus Alternator
Brake Master Cylinder brace
Repaint exterior
Begin Engine Mods

I will be asking for some help and feedback from you guys and will post as much as I can. Thanks for looking and leave a suggestions/comments. Thanks all

Looks like a clean project! Hope you get moving on it.

Just for thought, I have the stock fan and shroud with a Corksport radiator and a 180* thermostat. My temps rarely go above 175* in the summer, just in the city and at the track.

Also, it seems power steering is the next LS swap in drifting, if that's what you're in to. Also, rack spacers are much more common on the "powered" racks, because the manual rack has a different thread size on either side of the rack. I have a depowered 15:1 rack, and it takes a little muscle.

Thanks man, I hope to get her moving here pretty soon. Fairly sure I'm going to get another engine and rebuild that one but gonna see if this one works for now.
Wanting to upgrade my cooling and getting rid of the drag with Efan/shroud/radiator.
I would never go LS and ruin a great car. I was planning on depowering my power rack from the steps on FlyinMiata and not converting it to manual. If not aftermarket rack will do. This will free up so much room in the bay and get rid of belts. Less moving parts to fail.

I've been out of the country for a bit but will start making some progress here soon. Thanks for viewing

Make sure you're new radiator has side, rather than top/bottom, tanks.
Side tanks give you a taller, more square core and that increases your fan options greatly.

And, much as I approve of and advocate for efans, be aware that the debate over "drag" and potential hp savings is somewhat loaded, although not as hotly debated today as in years past.

So quick update. Removed leaky/faulty ABS unit and replaced with MAZDATRIX ABS Delete I had lying around. Not the most elegant but gets the job done at the moment. Didn't have brakes at all. Once I get the parts together, I will be reworking the lines and converting to non-ABS.

Haven't been doing much lately but got around to disconnecting the ABS ECU. Bleeding the brakes and putting in battery to see what happens. Maybe it'll start maybe not. Just seeing where it's at and adjusting how I attack this

Wow been awhile since I've updated. Been super busy with work and fam.
Flushed brake lines and bled brakes, added sea foam, fuel, put in battery and started right up after sitting for years! Wasn't expecting that. Sputters a lot but what can I expect. Doesn't stay at idle tho, coolant was foamy orange, some vacuum hose wasn't connected. Now fun begins

What's the difference, if any, between an S4 keg and an S5 keg. I have all S5 parts and accessories on the car but threw this engine in cuz it was $300 and blew the S5.
