VA REW swap question ?

I am building a REW to drop into a 2nd gen... however i have a question about the flywheel...i am using the n/a tranny but when i tried to fit the n/a flywheel on the engine it hits on a corner... I was wondering if there was a way that i could use the REW flywheel and a n/a clutch and pressure plate and it would still work on the n/a tranny?

Just source out a TII drivetrain, it will hold alot more power and less problems.

Get the turbo tranny, then you can use the S5/FD turbo flywheel. Plus it uses a 9 7/16" clutch versus the 8 7/8 n/a clutch.

You can use N/A driveline stuff but it has to be the same from flywheel back. But you can't put a lot of HP through them before you blow them out. Better to do as others said find TII stuff.

If you are dead set on using the N/A trans you must use an S5 N/A flywheel. If you are using the stock flywheel you will need to grind down the rear iron by the side inspection plate. To avoid the need to modify the rear iron you can install an aftermarket lightweight N/A flywheel, which mounts on a S5 auto rear couterweight, this would give you the clearance that you need.

That's a great place to start. But I would definately go with the T2 tranny. It's easier, more reliable and set up so have your drive train set up when it comes time for bigger bolt-ons.

Yes, needs to be an S5 or S6 flywheel/cw to match the front cw and rotors. S4's are balance differently so it won't work.

Another vote to just get a TII trans or entire drivetrain now.

You can use an S4 trans, but the flywheel and/or CW must be S5/S6.

Same hold true for a TII trans.
