Reddon's 88 Turbo Project
So now that my project is nearing completion I have some time to post some pics and stuff of what I did. A few months ago I picked up this 88' Turbo.
I sourced an s5turbo w trans for 1500. I got a break on shipping because I had it shipped to my work. I had to get it home and I only own 2 fc's so..

I tore it all down, It was super clean; came with an excedy clutch and flywheel plus the tension bolts are numbered.
So I was going to do the OMP swap but taking the front cover off and all that just didn't seem worth it, so I am premixing it.
Here is everything about to go in.
When I got it started I was one happy camper. I had to do about 2 nights worth of troubleshooting trying to figure out that the afm was bad. I should have known bc the fuel pump was running anytime the key was on but after following a few troubleshooting threads I figured it out by testing the ecu voltage at the pressure sensor seeing the ecu not be in the right condition. It was fun.
What was not fun sanding the previous spray can job someone else did.
The three sessions of applying primer and then sanding off all the orange peel and redoing it hurt a bit too. I started on the 6th of july and finished on the 28th with primer. I was sanding for three weeks but I am in the best shape of my life! Hahaha
After a buddy came over and turned my air pressure down on my gun I got a good coat on and shined it up to 600.
I used a dark grey sealer, and put this aqua blue; with silver, violet and pearl flake nason paint on. It looks black at night, and dark purple on the edges, then the aqua that resembles the stock color when you look right at it.
I am color sanding the doors because I had a real light coat of clear on there. I was all fogged out in the garage, that clear reaks.
So that's where I am at now. I just got the last of the parts I need to get it on the street, but still need to get an exhaust. I am new to turbos so I have been doing research on that. My brother told me to start looking for a air fuel monitor. Holy smokes I gotta get up early and do more sanding! I will eventually sand the rest of the car down and put more clear on and buff it but right now just the doors need it and that's enough for me to get this thing out there and representing. I did the engine bay too, I will post pics of that later on.

Thanks! It took me a while to finish it. I am dealing with some electrical issues right now, or fuel issues.. dunno what it is really yet but once I get the hood back on and wash it I'll post some more pics. I ended up reclearing the doors and hood. I get complimented on it all the time now in the street. Recently I moved to Tennessee and have been having fun in the hills west of Chattanooga. My move was partially so I could drive the great roads out here
