Should suffice my needs on standard wire. Hell the stuff walbro sent with my 255 was basic wire and it appears to have held up in the last year.

ONE MORE DAY!!! GRR, I will admit my lack of manliness in the sense of not trying to burn down my house, nor my neighbors. Bringing the new pump/sending unit to my mechanic. Another mechanic said it would be fine for awhile, but I am **** about anything that can explode in a fireball behind me.


I should have same day turnaround on the wire job, so if I do, tomorrow is the day that I officially fire this thing. Trying to track down a very minor coolant leak already... Noticed a drip every so often when I was changing the oil. Nothing looks wet though.... Will investigate further after work.

Allow me to offer some hope as you stew in your impatience...

After I put my car back together (not a full rebuild but down to the bare keg w/ front cover removed), I sat in the car mentally going over the checklist, planning a sequence much like yours.
A few cigarettes, a few bowls and I just said **** it, turned the key.

Fired right up, settled into idle and ran like a top.
Haven't really touched it since, she just hiked up her skirts and got on with it.

Sometimes you get lucky.

thanks. My mechanic said my pump wiring was fine this morning. So after work I am putting it in the tank, filling it with 5 gallons of gas, turning the key.

Lucky (more **** retentive??) bastard. I've had my car down to the bare keg 5 times this year for various leaks/ replacements. I think I still may have another coming. Rebuilt hybrid is still smoking. :/

I should ask in the 2nd gen area, but it seems I am not getting power from the ecu at the diagnostic clip. White car ecu plugged into red car harness lights up the LED' lights for 3 seconds and shuts off like it should.

It does not do that on the other car with factory ecu. So I can surmise that the both ecu are fine. I have another wiring issue. This would seriously explain the limp mode esque symptoms I am having.

Friggen electrical nightmare. Working with satch to fix it, but godamnit!@!!! I am super close to pulling the dash in both cars and just smoking a bowl or few and going to town with my multimeter. Previous Owner has certainly been into the harness at some point. Frigg sakes..

Now.... Wait on a order from summit for redline fluids for the diff/transmission and speed bleeds so I can bleed my brakes (Help is rarely available to me) by myself. I need to adjust all my suspension bits for height, pre-load, camber etc etc.

Then, I need to get a stock NA fuel pump, and a v-belt for the air pump on the red car so it runs again, and get it sold so I can buy tires for the GXL. The tires are dry rotted and bald.

After that, give it a proper detail, and take it for a cruise and start looking for any problems. Generally baby it for awhile. I have poopy oil in it right now because I was not sure this was going to run. I will run it for 200ish miles and put some good stuff in along with a better oil filter (already purchased).

That is about it really. If the engine is indeed strong, I will start getting to know the new rear end, and hopefully start dodging cones locally when my wallet permits.

Well done sir! Glad to see your headache is in the clear. I just got mine sorted as well. Unfortunately, I'm still not 100% sure what the problem was.
I can't say I've heard a rotary idle that smooth....ever. Enjoy!

Thanks Revin, A good deal of blood and sweat was involved. Tears, not so much. I to, am amazed by how it idles. I truthfully with it would idle a "tiny bit" higher as the power steering pump is not hooked up presently, nor the AC. The AC WILLLLL be making it back into the car. I decided it must be so. Will I use it? maybe, but I want it there for originality.

it backed out of the garage on its own power, and now I can't drive the damn thing because I am waiting on my insurance guy to transfer insurance from red to whitey. There is a good side and a bad side to having a small town insurance broker. The good side is amazing rates and no bullshit. The bad side is when you need something NOW that is not an accident claim, it takes a few days. well... I am now on day 3 of waiting, and plan to call him on lunch again. My title sits next to me at my desk here at work.

I did drive it around the block once because it was killing me. I realized I forgot to tighten a few importantish bolts. Tonight I will be adjusting ride height to match all four corners in preparation for its sport alignment I have in store for it.

I want to drive it around to find any problems or things that I missed. I already noticed the brakes are seized a bit. They started to come back to life, but nowhere near were they need to be. Good thing I have a full 5 lug swap with 4 pots sitting in a box in the garage in case they will not loosen up.

So, I spent Saturday giving it a proper wash and detail in an out(still need to shampoo and extract front carpet). Oh my my my... it is beautiful and majestic looking now. I need to pick up some mild steel wool to get a couple nooks and crannies on the wheels clean but as a whole it just puts a smile on my face every time I pull the car cover off.

As soon as I get insurance I will be driving it up to the lake by my house and get some pictures for you guys. As good as my phone can take anyways, 1080p? I don't know, like 6mp or something. I really need tires though. Only 1 holds air , another kinda holds air, and the other 2 need a top off every 2 days. That, and they are bald.

ok ok, It wont be leaving the neighborhood until the I trust the brakes. the lake is about 7 city blocks away. I certainly will not be driving around on these tires. just to the lake and back to look for problems. then it sits until the red car sells freeing up tire money, and maybe.... wheels money. I can't find a set I want within my budget though.

If the car sits as you gather funds and you have a five lug/brake swap sitting in the garage and you want new wheels...why the **** aren't those parts on the car yet?

unknown functionality. I would just use the calipers as cores and buy remans. The calipers are starting to slide again. They just sat for 20 years. I probably should of just sent out the others as cores anyways, but something is always hindsight.

Its a gxl so it already has 5 lug and 4 pots on it. I picked that swap up for my base with the wimpy 2 pots and 4 lug.
