Project: Undecided
I've done this by accident many times. Sometimes I find that I will edit the photo, and then I will go to view it on the forum and nothing will have changed. The trick is, that it probably did update, and your browser is simply showing you the previously used version. Delete your history/cookies and refresh the forum page and you may find that it is in fact edited the way you want it to be. Unless of course photobucket is just being silly and I can't help you there

More things not being put on my car this weekend. I also sliced my left hand ring finger open to the point where 4 stitches get to ride with me for a week. Good times..... Needless to say, that bill is going to set back the new wheels and tires till next spring. **** sakes. I need to start selling plasma/semen. Word on the street is its $200/monthly round here.
But I made good construction progress:
minor loss, minor victory.

Got the new LCA's in, along with new ball joints. I still need tie rod ends, but no one in town stocks them, and better / grease-able units can be had through rock auto or other vendors cheaper.
So, tie rod ends, get my top hats machined to let the coilovers in the front get more camber, and service my rack and pinion and it should be super tight again.
I will say that after finding what I did today and actually being able to feel what the car is doing is amazing. The whole thing feels great now.
However, the car still does not brake from higher speeds straight, But I finally figured it out thanks to the work today. Sticking caliper in the rear is my gut instinct. I noticed uneven pad wear last time I inspected it (month ago) And re lubed everything.
I have a spare set of brake calipers for this car I am going to trade in for remans. Tired of chasing P.O.'s problems.
I cannot stress how good this thing feels now. I went fairly easy on it this time after seeing the tie rod ends blown out, but MAN! What a difference the ES bushings made.

I have some mazdatrix sway bar endlinks I never used back in my fc days if you're interested? $60 you can have them.
They are spherical bearings or whatever mazdatrix uses lol

That suspension stuff is OK, I guess but what I'm really waiting for is your high intensity florescent tube headlighting and the sheetrock/plaster replica Rocket Bunny widebody kit.

As your way of saying you like my progress, thank you. Body kit maybe.. never.*cough*that CA turbo will be mine if other dude backs out. Just sayin.
Certainly cheaper than buying a car across the country.
Are you in cahoots with the seller in CA?
Puppet bidding to pressure that poor newcomer?
If so, I get a cut or I'm telling everybody.

Nope, I see a clean body, with a fresh heart at a cost lower then rebuilding a side engine I already have. That is it. I have been eying a bike at the same cost and pre approved for much more then the CA car anyhow. I am also feeling a bit bored and adventurous.
You and I both know something that clean with a fresh rebuild is money the seller is never getting back. And I happen to be in a place to pick his losses up. I would keep white devil still as well.

Mild repairs and brief update on all things nobody cares about:
Here is yesterday morning:
I also believe I finally solved an issue where the linkage from the OMP was occasionally getting stuck on the throttle body. This was fun, every so often where the car would get stuck at near redline until the throttle was blipped. It was random to. Could just be normal rev match downshifting driving slow and all the sudden WOT
To test this fix my cocky younger brother was determined to say his 04 Infiniti FX35 was faster then my car. He got on it 2 car lengths in front of me coming out of a turn into a straight and I dropped down to second W/ my 229LB step dad in the car. I passed him and had him by 2 lengths where he had to slow down for an upcoming curve, where as I did not. I love this suspension setup.
"I wasn't even on it" comes from his mouth when we got home. I call bullshit as I have driven his rig. Sure, it has the 350z engine, but its lugging an extra 1k + pounds and a slouchy auto all wheel drive system. His truck is not slow, but its not this fast race car his 18yr old eyes make it out to be.
Beyond that I have developed an odd "clunk / cracking" noise in the rear end. only when I turn semi fast/hard to the right. my first thought were my coil over springs came loose as PBM recommends zero pre-load on the springs (I still snug them a tad over, but they can still spin). Nope, still tight. toe rods move a bit, but they are heim joint and they were tight as well so another one down. Even if I push the car back and forth on the ground as hard as I can I cant hear anything. Its only when moving and turning to the right in a tight parking lot and such.
I do not think I torched my new wheel bearings as it is fine driving civil. It just seems to do it when the weight shifts over to that side. I need to get it in the air again and inspect my diff mounts and sub-frame solid mount as well as my pinion snubber.
I did not really notice this until my step dad rode with me. He thinks the noise is coming from the middle and both sides. I think it is mainly the passenger side.

Got it back in the air tonight. I could not let this perfect cool weather pass me by. Found a few things that may of contributed to the noise. Bottom mount for the adjustable diff link was a tad loose, one of the toe links was a "tad" loose, felt around everything with a pry bar and no heim joints looked torched. Noticed passenger side muffler was resting on the heat shield around the gas tank, spread it out more.
Plopped it back on the ground and did not notice the noise any more. I would have a tough time believing the extra 229lbs of a passenger would have let me hear something that I normally wouldn't by myself, but who knows. I will have to take him with me and turn in circles in a parking lot and see if I got it as I could not replicate the noise tonight.

And the mystery noise returns. It is at this point I take it to my family friends shop to get it on a lift and figure this out. His lead tech takes on side projects for beer during slow hours. Works for me.
If I had to really "guess" what it is at this point after double checking everything..... Passenger trailing arm spherical bushing broke, or the hub assembly /wheel bearing is moving about ever so slightly. I am leaning more on the spherical bushing though it is the one we had to weld ears on the ends of the trailing arm openings to hold it in place from a botched initial press in attempt. (thanks again to Part shop max for hooking me up with a new one for free)
I am also regretting the solid rear bushing a bit as well. On smooth roads (and god willing the track this year) they are nice and give good feed back.... on city roads with bumps, cracks, pot holes.... ******* hell are they abusive on the driver and chassis. I may ditch the solid diff risers in place of some mazda speed units to get some give back into the *** end again.
I would suspect I would also change the front diff mount out with a rubbery type unit as well as I currently have that solid as well.

its more of a pop right now. only in slower speeds in parking lots turning near full lock. Smooth as butter driving any other way.
Granted, I can hear hamming the wheel back in fourth at 40 in a slalom as well. I have checked everything I can on jack stands... twice. Tired of laying under it finally. lol.
edit: Have a passenger side trailing arm around? for.. science

I can't say the turbo is any different then the S4 NA, but the bottom tension bolt has a wire loom fastener installed on the rear nut. Apparently I did not have the loom far enough out of the way and or the linkage was getting snagged on the tab itself. Bent it back up right after fiddling with the loom to get some slack back into it and all has been good since.

was taking about the original harness clip that is on the backside of the alternator lower bolt. If not adjusted right (mine was actually all sorts of dicked) can cause binding of the mechanical OMP linkage.
Hospital is being huge ***** and fighting them till the end. Might not get to the track this season after all. Next stop, state attorney general. Love Lori Swanson. Helped me before, and got my vote because of it.

I did manage to not be a complete lazy bastard this weekend:
I did re-route that wiring already. Much cleaner.

Back in 08, I crashed my 08 ninja 650r. Totaled it. I spent 8 hours in the ER at HCMC. Bill was the same. Granted, Alina tried pegging an additional $1500 Ambulance fair that I DIDN'T EVEN ASK FOR onto it. Lori got all that **** dropped. She got my vote. Health care is soo ******* broken. Dental is another issue......... ******* ****'
man your car is soooooo much cleaner than mine I can really tell with all that looking close up inside the front of the car. Good job on the install and thanks for explaining the OMP rod issue
