My first rebuild of rotary engine, i have many questions
Hello!
I am Harald from Austria, as you have probably noticed in my English. I want to get my Rx-7 FC Turbo 1990 engine running again. Unfortunately, after 100,000 miles, my water seals are broken. A little longer before, the oil rings have said goodbye, showed up with heavy smoking after starting.
After I dissected everything, cleaned and measured. Me are a few say unclear or doubt I do the right thing.
I would also like to say that the engine does not have to hold another 100,000 miles. I drive this car only 1000 miles a year and it's all original.
I bought an engine rebuild kit C from Atkinsrotary. But I have to think about my rotor housings and the center iron. Please look at the pictures, the center iron has 3 small damages in the area of the oil rings. The rotor housings have some corrosion on the surface of the water seals. But I think the chrome tread does not look so bad, right? A housing has small cracks at the spark plug hole, but only the chrome layer is cracked.
What is your opinion?
thank you for your help
