UPDATE: New stuff woowhoo!
So Mason and I voyaged to our local junkyard to see if we could find a lip and some crown vic wheels for the RX7. It wasn't a pick n' pull so we had to tell the employee what we were looking for. Started out with the mesh Crown Victoria wheels, came up with nothing there or in the area for that matter, damn...Then we moved on the lips, I told him it would be easier to just go look if we could, so he took us out back to look.
Just outside the garage, we turned the corner and BAM!
Spotted these puppies being cleaned for sale. I asked the bolt pattern, (5x114.3, which confuses me as the PCD say 112, but i'm not sure what that means) and proceeded to keep my mouth shut about the possible rarity of them. He said they've been sitting in their showroom for about two years. Not sure of their knowledge on the wheels I asked how much they wanted for them. He had to ask his boss, so we decided to go look for a lip in the meantime. Low and behold, right smack in the front row sat about four S13 chassis and an S14, all of which to no surprise, had quarter panel damage hah. I ended up stumbling on a zenki hatch with the front lip still in tact and snagged it. In great condition too.
We wondered our way back to the garage with the lip in hand as we met the owner whom gave me a price of $150.00 for all four wheels. I replied with a humble "okay, sounds good" and loaded them into the Wagoner.
When I got home, we test fitted the lip...remarkable how well it just slips on, no modification needed!
I cleaned up the wheels and did a little test fitting. BINGO! They fit perfectly, however I will need to grab some hub rings as the bore size is just a little sloppy. Fitment looks spot on and the fronts clear the struts.
All in all, I believe I had a pretty damn good day. Found a set of real 3 piece wheels for a fraction of their worth, and a lip that fits like a glove.
