My FC rx7 drift build
Hey all!
Bought my 1988 s4 fc with a s5 motor in it about 4 months ago. It was a whole car but my god was it horrible. So I ripped the thing apart and gutterd it with everything out even heater/Aircon (I really don't know why I still have a dash).
Car was rebuilt 3 or so months before I bought it and only had a mild port and cat back system. Even stock suspension still inside. So I chopped the springs and bought some r32 gtr wheels for it, took it out on track and blew the clutch master cylinder lap 2.
Afte fixing that I went to the next track day. After 3 laps this time the turbo started whistling and whilst hitting turn 2 at mallala thinking I'm smoking the hell outta third I realized the turbo seal popped. that was about a month ago.
So since then she's sat in the shed and I rang around mates n shops to see what turbo is best but then went all out and managed to book in a rebuild consisting of better apex seals, dowelling and a Bridgeport. This is happening next weekend when the motor comes out.
These pics are from when I first bought it to now in the shed except now it sits on lenso d1rs (like eveyone) Too many to come!

Ok so yesterday I purchased a few parts. Bigger turbo with manifolds and 46mm external gate with screamer, fmic, catch can, straight pipe and 4x 1000cc injectors.
Not sure on exact specs but I know it's a German turbo fully rebuild.
More photos of other parts to come.
Then this weekend the motor comes out!

Finally some progress on the fc. Got some mates round on the weekend. pulled the motor out and had a laugh in the process. With ltrs of oil all over the floor, 4 hours later it was out. Here's a few pics of the process. Haha good times.
Starting off with the help of a mate with great skills with rotarys haha. Top mount comes off.
The worst thing in the world. That's gotta go.
Haha damn Turbo breaking ffs.
Looks like he finally did it. Intake off.
Alright so I forgot to take some photos of it on the crane and coming out but hey what ya gonna do. Here it is out and ready to strip.
Pulled turbo off and of course found so much oil in The rear housing.
After takin the turbo off took a snapshot of the exhaust ports and found the rotor. To find it looks like standard seals and a bit worn. Sucks I was told it was about 6 months old rebuilt. Didn't pay excessive for it but that's what ya get sometimes with these.
Mounted the new turbo on just for a look and it's lookin pretty large. Stoked.
Real tight fit. Will have to grind back block off plates.
The good things you find the first time it comes apart. Feals good on the pedal. Twin plate. Cooool
More photos to comes!
