Hey everyone! So, I want to build this tread to document My progress since I'm a new to all this rotary engine field. I just got this car few days ago and is ready for some operation and transformation. Everyone is more that welcome to provide me with some feedback, I do really appreciate your help. I will keep posting pictures as I go along. Let's see what the destiny has for me.
Doesn't look too bad. Just start with one spot at a time. My 510 was about the same. It sucked but once done it was worth it.....or I'll buy the dash from the part out haha, either way. I vote fix it.
So waiting what I get some free time, I order some coilovers. I went with Ksport CMZ140. I have them installed in my daily drive IS300 for over a year and I dont have any complains. They ride smooth and can go low to my taste. Many people said that they are bad or same thing like Megan Racing, Godspeed, BC and others but those same people never own them, so how can someone say that are bad without trying them, I do have them in my IS so I like them and no problem whatsoever. My RX7 wont see a track anyways. I will post pictures once I get them installed next week.
ahhh Yes !!!! some nice ride now. I just need to raise a little from the back and good to go !! More pics coming I get exited and forget to take pictures lol.
Why the hell are you buying new suspension for a car with rotted sills?
Hmm, after further reflection I can see how that might seem a bit harsh, so let's try again:
Dear Mr Cintron,
We have reviewed your project plan and have a few concerns about the prioritization process.
What the **** are you thinking?
That car doesn't need any suspension till it's off the welding rotisserie and had the frame geometry checked.
How extensively have you examined the rest of the chassis?
There are some other fairly common rust areas (like the spare tire well), have you looked at them?
Any car can be resuscitated, it's just a matter of will, talent, tools and money...and a clear-eyed, thoughtful approach to the project.
90% of the work is going to be grindingly tedious and boring, bolting on the bling is your reward for enduring the slog...not the place you start from.
hahahahahah I know I know, Guess What I don't care... the only places that have rust is those only spots. Yes for sure I need to fix that first. But Im in the military and In he process of moving, the suspension is way gone so I bought them and put them on since I'm driving this car now. Once I get to Atlanta, It will be stripped out to fix those areas, new paint new body kit, new engine. Yes the engine has 197000 original miles and need a rebuild but I dont care if it blows because I'm doing a Turbo swap. This is a learning process for me. and My priorities will not be the same as normally others do. but thank you for the advice.
