JashStyles 86 GXL Complete Revival

Hey everyone, I just recently got my 1986 GXL fc and got it for $350 delivered. Only the shell. I am gonna keep it rotary, as I plan to do the TII setup. This is truly one of my dream cars and I finally have one. I have a lot of work ahead of me and lots of researching. Here are some pics.

LSD was locked. The previous owner left it hangin for it to roll. Car was sitting since 08.

Just minutes after it being delivered.

Cleaning it up some.

Pulling it in.

My bigger dent issues. Nothing major.

Running on hopes and dreams.

Is it common to have rear windows with no wiper?

wow looks like you have some fun ahead of you with this but hell you cant beat 300 dollars for a car. did you take the interior out or did it not come with rear interior or storage bins? that rear glass must be a replacement because i think the gxl and turbo always have rear wipers. good luck with the build as you know im doing pretty much the same thing.

^ Correct. Someone swapped it with a base model, luxury, or Sport hatch. They are not uncommon, but people like to delete their rear wipers. Myself included.

Thanks! Ya I got it as you see it. I've just been cleaning it up. This car is missing quite a bit of things, no interior or storage bins. Need to find me some manual window regulators too. I know there's a junkyard nearby that has two fc's I need to check out.

Same here. I'm more into the simple and clean look. Good thing I have this window then. I was just curious to what models came with that window standard. Now I know! =]

Cleaning up the bay some today. I noticed this area on the driver side frame railing has a rust issue, I'm hoping this isn't gonna be a big problem...

^ Pretty common. Caused by someone bleeding or filling the clutch or brake cylinders. Spill a little fluid there and the paint dissolves leaving the metal bare to corrode. A good grind and repaint should fix it.

^Thanks.

Haven't done much other than clean some more. Had the opportunity to pick up an NA engine for $300 but rather save my pennies for the TII. Just basically sourcing the smaller things until I find one for a good price.

Right here, me and a homie pullin out the dash, repairing mangled door handle setup, etc.

Gonna try and vinyl dye the dashboard.

Also picked this up at a local yard along with a couple other items. Believe me, I will be rocking this fer sure. haha. Gonna go back tomorrow and pick up a lot more.

Picked up some more stuff from the yard. I'm hoping transforming all these interior pieces along with the dash and vinyl dye it will be worth it. Picked all this up for $50, so no harm if it doesn't work out. Next item in line is the TII engine setup.
