gregs RHD S4 Jspec swap/build
#26
Had some time to make some progress on the RX7.
Jspec Steering column bracket spot welds removed and ready to transer
Section of firewall I'm using for a template
I was lucky enough to borrow a Plasma which made the job fast and easy
Marks are made for the new holes on the convertible
Brake Master and Clutch Master mounted
Welding the Jspec Gas Pedal Bracket and Steering Shaft Bracket
All done with a quick rattle can paint to not expose the bare metal and welds
Next I will mount most of the parts and figure out how much room I have to run brake lines and fill in the holes in the firewall

the stock filter actually is inline, so moving it actually would be really easy, you just need to find a spot where it would fit, and in reality the stock spot is gonna be kind of hidden still

I know this clip is from a Series 4 but not sure if it's a GTX. I didn't even know it was something special until a good friend of mine who is a DIE Hard FC collector his eyes practically popped out and said "you are one lucky person" haha

Today finished up transfering the jspec wiper motor and wiper rod assembly.
All the LHD holes are welded shut and grinded down flat, all that's needed to apply some filler to smooth out the filled holes
Hopefully all my brake lines and fittings come in soon so I can get those routed, It's almost looking like a engine bay again.

did you measure the steering column bracket before you welded it so its in the exact place? I welded mine on just slightly off and my steering column is a tad to the left and i hate it.

Yeah measured countless times and I noticed there's a indentation on the frame where the bracket sits perfectly, also before I welded the bracket in place I used self tapping screws to hold it in place and double check the measurement was spot on and didn't move.
