My car has always been a driver's car..not a Garage Queen,or Pristine Shiney "Buff it up and let the drool fly" type car.
SO,I thought about it,and since it is not worth big money doing the car up with a NEW paint job,I'll go ahead and spruce it up with some Rattle cans.,

SO,I am starting this thread for a Before and After comparison so I can look at it later and either kick myself in the *** or Pat myself on the back.
I just got the paint and I plan to do this in a couple days..and since it will NOT be a professional job it won't take Forever!!..lol!

What color and what kind of paint?

 

Look up plasti dip. It is cheap and will look much better than spray cans

I appreciate the Ideas guys,but this is 'my way'.
The car In my Opinion isn't even worth a 600 dollar Plasti-dip.That is why I am just gonna rattle can it.
I got some Decent paint,and I got clear coat too.(same Paint I used on the other car,so I know it will come out ok.)
The car has had it's share of screws,dents,etc..It's a Buggy..lol..and it's MY buggy!
Bruno..that guy I emailed him numerous times and he's always out of stuff..

 

If you prep the car right it should turn out pretty good, just depends on how much time your willing to spend. As you said yourself the car is a buggy.... a really fast one that is

 

sprayed mine over a year ago and its holding up fine(I wetsanded A TON!) only problem with it is that you do need to polish it a lot to make it clean looking.

 

Well I originally got the car and it was an insurance job..
I put black Krylon over the Grey paint which looked half decent and it held up for 6 years..just this year it is 'rubbing off' in spots.
I'm tired of it looking like burnt toast,so this time it will be BLUE..

It should be interesting,I had a chat with a buddy and I changed my plans..yet again,so the Paint 'scheme' is now altered and should cover more of the car than originally planned.
I got the tails,hatch w/ louvers,hood,wipers,mirrors off..Took off the Big BB style wing off it.I just took my time..had 2 hamburgers and a big nap..lol!

Car is Painted.!.
Well, except for a Door..I gotta finish that tomorrow.

You Guys in BC smoke to much local vegetation!

I taped the car off,and took the doors/hatch/hood and whatnots OFF to get at the inside fender parts,edges,,etc so it wouldn't look like ***..(even though it was gonna be a Rattle can job.)
I even removed all the seals so I shot paint in places that really didn't need it but it looks pretty good for an Old Fart on a Mission and a case of paint!
I took the Tape off the bottom and I am really pleased at the outcome.
It is like Night and Day now.You would not even know it was the same car!

Pics..I got busy so they were fast ones..with shady spots from trees,and crap all over the place!
paper still on in spots,deciding what to do about clear coat.
The Color looks a bit lighter in the pics,but you get the idea.
(PS: I still haven't figured out how to set the date on my camera..lol!)

My eye was a little off,as I was doing the tape job in the garage,crouched down,yay..The look is there though and it turned out to be "poppin"!
But the lines will get fixed when I detail it more...I got "ideas"..lol!

 

Just to show you the progress on this car,I took this Pic about a half a year into my ownership of it and have had the car now since 2005.
I had to fix the front end as it had a little damage,so I added a part or two..Hahahahahaha!

 

Well the car is back together and I went for a run.

I wasn't out 20 minutes and got asked" you wanna see how fast that can go?"..
I said "I know how fast it goes!"..(duh!...)

I did take pics but they were snapped near night fall and look like ***.
I'll post tomorrow morning/afternoon..Supposed to get rain in the afternoon here.

Styx, you need a new camera or you need to learn to use the one you have better. Those pics are BLURRY.

My camera SUX..believe me!..If I put a hooker and that Camera in the same room the Camera would WIN!
I like the outcome personally.
The hood is a Pan speed from Shine.
