FC PRO AM "damn mayne!!" build

3 years!!! Yes, it's been THAT LONG since I last drove my beloved FC. As you can imagine, a lot has gone on since 2009. Parts have been acquired, relocating the car (frustrating), and a new job so I can have money to actually fund this thing.

Anyway, the intention this time around is to make more power, enhance some of the aesthetic, and drive this car hard. Ideally I want this to be active in the street and track with a focus on the drifting. Some road-race activity would be dope too

I'm not the most seasoned tech when it comes to working with 7's, my time is sometimes limited and I tend to second-guess myself way too much, keep in mind I'll be seeking the aid of others amongst the rotary community for a little guidance (always fun)

Enough of the typing...lets begin

Here's the car in her current state, her name? Alliyah

Had to clean the engine bay out, not quite done yet though

I love these guys, with all my heart...used RX8 bearings this time around

The day I brought the 13B-T home from Lucky 7 Racing (Thanks again for your patience w/me guys)

That's it for now, glad I finally got the motor back in my possesion. I have 2 options lingering now, since I might have some more funds coming my way by the end of this month (hopefully). I can either purchase parts as I find them on the forum...OR, I can buy an already running FC (T2 swap) for a low low price and use those parts to get me back on the road sooner. I'm favoring the second option the most since I'm dying to get back on the road, I can also just sell parts and upgrade as I go along all the while still driving the FC. What do you think??

Still need a list of parts since I've sold most of my old stuff and need to re-up.

First on my list since the motor is out:

- New Clutch & Flywheel
- Freshen up transmission (rebuild)

and lastly, this...

If ANY of you have connects/leads on where I can purchase this ECU, let me know as I've already reached out to a few members on here too. It's all timing and of course, monie$$$

why the PFC? it is nice for the FD but the only benefit of it on the FC is the plug n play harness which also adds the cost to push it into more efficient standalone territory. granted to build the harness and install most other standalones usually runs about 5 bills so meh, i guess i understand.

^ I've noticed good review on this standalone from others, I'm also a bit of a product ***** and like the brand. It also has "FC" in it No but seriously, figured since I have the OEM harness already, I can bug some folks here to help me freshen it up, get the Banzai adaptor and call it a wrap.

Absolutely redo the wiring harness before you install your new engine. Even if it looks ok. FC's have garbage wiring. Big mistake I made with my girlfriends car. All together to finally come to the conclusion that the wiring to the injectors is wacky. Now it sits, waiting for me to do my wire harness at the same time.

For real huh, really hoping I get this bonus check within a few days from today (or sooner) so I can get new parts and post updates here.

Yeah, this past weekend at Sevenstock I was able to connect with a good buddy of mine and we discussed my engine harness. He has a reputable guy who builds quality wiring, I'm positivbe he'll do an amazing job on my OEM setup. PFC...here I come

Update: $$$

Really quick, confirmed today that I have a check coming my way THIS WEEK and another on the 19th of this month, WORD!!!

This can only mean a couple things:
- Pics for this thread
- More Parts
- FC running before the year ends

So happy, stay tuned...

Question, below is a pic of my "yet to be used" KAAZ 1.5 diff, installed it and experienced a complete fail. When the car was put in gear, the car wouldn't move forward, **** just kept spinning and spinning. Can someone add a little clarity as to how to fix this?? I already had it inspected at KAAZ headquarters and it checked out fine. I recall explaining this problem to someone and they said to have it shimmed??? WTF is that??? Does that even fix the problem???

Power FC3S...

Picked this up FINALLY!! My FC has a brain now , thanks goes out to JhnRx7 @ the club here. I really like Apexi products, and again love that this ECU has "FC" in its name (it's the small things) Next is the patch harness from Banzai for a Series 5 T2...anyone have this on deck for cheap?

Lookng good so far. I had the Power FC in my FC... I'd probably never get another one again, though. It uses the old wiring harness, the readouts on the commander are not very accurate, and if something goes wrong with it (physically)... Good luck getting support here in the states.

Any suspension upgrades to come? What else do you have planned??

Hows it goin buddy?! Only 3 years??? Its been almost 5 years since I parted out my beautiful TII and now I'm working on the FD. I've never driven it since I bought it in '06! Lol.... but its getting there...

As for the diff, car won't move forward? Driveshaft connected? <---- lol...
Doesn't move forward or backward? Take the diff back out from the housing and see if the gears are meshing together. If not, then you'll have to shim it and check the backlash.

^ Jaiyurai!! Man I remember you and your posts around that year, 06. Wow, the FC is gone huh? Glad to see you moved on, continued the loyalty and upgraded to an FD. Good stuff.

Dude, thanks for chiming in on my diff issue, and I laughed at your "driveshaft" comment, comedy But yeah, car won't move fwd or backwards. I've noted your feedback and will look into that. Thanks!

Yeah buddy, 3year absence from the game for me, it sucks. Thanks for the support and yes, the car WILL be burning some well deserved $5 gallon pump gas

Thanks man, just chipping away at things and being very mindful of managing my budgets as best as possible. Sucks to hear about your experience, hope I never encounter what you went through with the PFC.

To answer your question, currently my FC is running the TEIN Super Drifts, fairly new and unused. A 6point roll cage is next and that should be all for me.

Clutch new new...

Came up on this Friday last week, super stoked

It's a hyper single equivalent Mazdaspeed twin disc Clutch, built by Exedy and specially made for Mazdaspeed. Clutch discs are 10mm larger than the twin disc hyper clutch from exedy, got the corresponding 12lb flywheel too, dope!! Just need a pilot bearing and I'm set. Next move is to finish cleaning the engine bay, cop some new motor mounts and I can drop the motor in. Check it out:

^^What up!! Yeah dude, 3 years, seriously the worst. If I could go back, I should've just stacked my money while driving it and had some dough to rebuild the motor in the event it goes out on me. Live and learn huh?

But yeah, can't wait to fire her up to and get back in the streets again. I feel good about the the plans I'll be executing for this project. Stay tuned mayne!
