Drake @ Garage Life 6 port turbo build
Hello everyone, been lurking on this forum for quite some time now and ive decided its time for a build thread. First ill give you guys a little background info on myself.
My name is Drake, im 20 years old and i reside in orange county CA, im currently paired up with DK over at Garage Life. Prior to building my rotary powered cars now, i was previously a subaru guy, i still have my project gc8 as my daily, but my rx7s have my full attention for now. After all i do work at a rotary specific shop so i should have something to show for it right? DK has taught me everything in a fairly short amount time, so im fully in depth with the rotary game. Before working with him i was a fabricator at an off road shop, so i do most fabrication over at the shop, even though DK is fully competent in that field. Anyways, ON TO THE BUILD!
This build is budget oriented, i have not spent more than 2000$ on this project, i picked up an 86 base model for a couple hundreds bucks, tore apart the motor to find a spun bearing, so that sucked. However some customers and DK graciously donated some parts i needed to complete my motor. This build was supposed to be a simple 6 port NA street port running on an SAFC, but then things kind of spiraled out control.... as they always do haha

(Mid mount set up is currently just mocked up)
i plan to race this car competitively in redline time attack when it is up and running and fully dialed in.
stay tuned for my FD build thread when it pops up, it will be a one of a kind.

Yea just waiting for money to build up so i can buy the last of my parts, switching my whole drivetrain to Turbo. Is yours stock tension bolts as well? What boost are you running? Im planning to keep it at 12psi or so, but considering seeing what it makes at 18psi ahahah

NA-BOOSTIN
Yes completely stock Mazda reman with t2 manifolds and front cover . I have a **** Mbc that a friend gave me that I tried last week or so . I went three lil clicks and some how that hit over 15psi and popped a coupler off the turbo lol . Pulled so hard !!!! Felt like the turbo (holset hx-52 ) just wanted to keep going .
Check out my build thread if you got time

Thanks for the interest guys, only thing thats holding me back right now is money, im ready to fire this baby up but have a couple obstacles.
1. Finish my mid mount set up, but to finish it i need to get the fenders and front bumper i will be using, i want it made so its at the optimal point for air to duct in.
2. Need to source rear end parts, i need a driveshaft, diff, axles, and 5 lug hubs.
3. I also have my FD that is crying for attention, it doesnt roll currently, i have the rear subframe, i just found a good deal on a front one, so i believe the little money that i have to spend will be going to FD soon ahaha
