Crank, but no start

I recently bought an 86 fc rx7 that does not run. The previous owner got it in a trade, he was planning on fixing it but didn't have time. The car has a big turbo, bigger injectors, and is ran by a megasquirt stand alone ecu. The car is getting fuel, and is getting spark but isn't starting. It ran before, I can tell because I can see carbon in the exhaust pipe. I dont know why it stopped running our what caused it. The engine was rebuilt and had maybe 500 miles on it before it stopped running. Maybe its flooded? It has a switch for the fuel pump that I can turn on and off so it wont flood while just cranking, but maybe it has been flooded. I dont know a lot about rotarys, it's my first one. But if anyone has any advise I would love to hear some suggestions.

For the most part when it comes to the car not starting, Flooding is always an option. The simple way to test for flooding is to disable the fuel pump by wither pulling the fuse for it, or too use the switch you mentioned. Next you have to put your foot down on the gas and turn the key. Its gonna sound like hell but by doing it, the throttle will be wide open to allow as much air in and the sparks will try and burn off the fuel in the housings. You have to do it a few times. Maybe 10 second intervals maybe 5-7 times or until you start hearing spark. Once you do, maybe do it once more and then reconnect the fuel pump and see if that did the trick. You wont damage anything since the oil pump is still running and sending oil to the engine.

The second test is to try and jump it. I had a friend who's fc wouldnt turn over. Again if you do that method, keep your food down because you starting it may have filled it with fuel that has sat there and needs to be burned off.

Obviously check the intakes and stuff for any debris that may be inside the pipes since animals tend to fill them with stuff on sitting cars.

Deflood procedure that always works for me:

take out plugs and clean them, i use brake clean(and light them on fire to get them dry since i'm inpatient).

Crank the engine with the fuel pump off, spark plugs removed and spark plug leads out of the way, i use a towel in front of the plug holes to catch the fuel that comes out. (Since injectors aren't disabled there will still come som fuel out of them, until the fuel pressure is gone).

Then i wait a little while to let some fuel evaporate before i put it together and try to start it again.

Update

I pulled the plugs and they both smell like gas. I put fresh plugs in (Ngk 5777) and (ngk 6917) those are the plugs that autozone says is stock but the one in the owners manual are (Ngk SD10a) and (Ngk SD11a) im.not sure what the difference is or wich ones are better, if anyone could help me out that that, that would be great. But back to the no start, I'm 100% sure it's not flooded, I pulled the plugs out cranked the engine (no fuel came out) but it smelled like gas. I put a stethoscope up to the injectors and I can't hear either of them clicking, but it's still getting fuel. Since it has the megasquirt stand alone ecu in it, could the spark or fuel timing be off? And I'm not sure wich spark plug wires go where, there are 2 blue and 2 black. The two black ones come from the coil pack by the battery and the two blue ones come from the coil pack by the break power booster. I need a lot of halp...

Update 2

I read the coil packs the l1 l1 and r1 t2, so I got the wires in the right spots, I put some gas in the tank just in case it was empty because it doesnt have a stock dash, it's just cranking no start, not even sputtering

Update 4

When cranking a little but of smoke comes out of the exhaust. I plugged my laptop into the ecu and I went on tunerstudio and it says "rpm not synced" I did a little research and from what I have found is that the ecu I am running is looking for a cam position sensor and since it's a rotary it doesnt have one. I'm not sure what to do from here, if anyone knows anything about tuning a megasquirt I would love the help. Thank you
