Aura - My FC (revival) thread
I'm at work right now so pictures won't be up until later tonight, but I thought after I blew up my third engine ( in this rx7.. in three years time) I was done.. Three months ago..
I was going to scrap it next tuesday and then I found a s4 TII complete swap on craigstlist... I'm picking it up tomorrow night..
When I bought her from my brother she was mechanically abused, but prestine as far as the body goes. (Stock mudflaps, rims, airbox, etc.).
Now she sits with a hatchet hole in the door, a busted windshield, demolished rear quarter panel, flat black, and interior-less.....
I regret everything I put this car through, body and soul(erhm.. engine).
I'll update it tonight with pictures and a bit more flameboyant wordsmithing.
Stay tuned.. as I've got a 1.6L dd and money to blow.. Hoping to do this right-ish.

Last night I drove to cincinatti in my nissan nx1600 and picked up the s4 TII engine, tranny, etc. Long drive w/o heat in the middle of a rain/snow storm... Anyway, I don't know a lot about the engine other than it is blown supposedly... Guess what is wrong with it... the turbo isn't messed up so I'm guessing it didn't blow an apex seal.. And it wasn't overheated as far as I know.
It did sit for 12 years before the guy I bought off of bought it and started driving it....
I'm guessing it is a carbon related failure...
Pictures will come soon, I slept 2 hours and came to work... lol.

I paid 370 dollars for it all.
And I'm hoping to get these pictures up tonight.
I got the engine I bought tore down. It did lose an apex seal on the rear but didn't do a lot of damage.. I'm actually confused on what happened to the rest of the apex seal.
