Another one going to the dark side

Hey guys,
I'm gearing up to do a full drivetrain swap on my '88 TII included in this swap are as follows...

| 2JZ-ge with a 1JZ vvti head
| Trans swap borg warner T5
| Ford 9" IRS
| AEM infiniti 6 ecu
| Big turbo 80-120mm diesel
|full chrome moly cage
|chopped wheel wells up front

My ultimate goal is a 1001 whp sleeper for drifting. I'll keep updating as i go... altho it might be a while on my budget -_-

What I've got:
-trans
-2jz-ge stock 355k
-Big@s5 turbo (think it's off an international rig)

I've got some questions about the modification on the stock gauges to accept signals from the aem Infiniti ecu i plan on buying...
Is it possible to pin out to the cluster or am i stuck with anakins a pillar pod box revealing the true nature of this FC

What signals does the ECU send to the gauge cluster?

Your FUEL gauge will work normally.
The OIL and WATER gauges will work if you swap the FC sensors onto the Toyo engine.
The tach will work after you splice in a Dakota Digital box to interpret the six cylinder signal to the 4 cylinder that the stock gauge is expecting.
You're fucked on the speedo.

Your car has a cable driven speedo, the T5 will have an electronic VSS sending unit.
You could maybe swap in a Miata electronic speedo and with another Dakota box, make it work.

Why would you use a T5 if you plan on making that much power??? They were marginal at best behind 200hp 5.0Ls 30 years ago

lol

T5 with 1001 HP? LOL you re joking right. A t5 handling 400HP is a feet. Please keep doing research. If you want to boss out do a 2JZ / tranny with a viper rear end.

My boss blew his t5 second time around the block after installing a 6.0 ford dart block with procharger . He dyno'd close to 700hp after we installied a termac tko 5 speed . I work at Aamco transmissions as a trans tech and pulled that trans still hot as hell to inspect gears . 3rd was shattered . I didn't read put the last post and know a t5 will barely hold 300-350 unless a worldclass t5 and even then . I have a 302 in my ford ranger and it was between a t5 or 4r70w I pick the last do to t5 being weak

Have fun with this one, but it won't be under its own power for very long (if at all) with that parts list. Why would you want to use any of the stock gauges with any of those parts. You have 10,000 other things to worry about that before you get to that point anyway.

Duely noted clokker. As far as the t5 is concerned i planned on building it. But really hadn't looked all that hard for kits. Would the obvious choice be an r154?

Building it won't help. R154 will probably break too. V160/v161
