That idiot cluster is a pain, and repairing them is tedious work. Hopefully your new one just works.

that car looks pretty original, so it makes my next statement that much more difficult because i don't believe in 100% stock. i'd say keep it stock ... er ... stock-ish! mild exhaust and whatever cosmetics and personalized touches you fancy, but that's it.

Nice score Alex!

I remember a co worker at a place I interned gave me his Wife's 87 SE for free. She was also the original owner

I unfortunately had to sell it because of rough times while in College, it's still around though - the owner is still enjoying the car

Thumbs up

Oh my! I thought I was reading the future in this post!
My name is Michele too. I am the original owner of an 86 rx7 sport, too. I am interested in selling it to someone who appreciates it, too.
Glad the other Michele found you Alex. Im still looking for the right buyer.

Update:
JDM FD 99 spec wheels

Rear-17x8.5 +50 -255-40-17 Michelin ps2
Front-17x8 +50 -235-45-17 Michelin ps2

You will need 20 or 25mm adapter spacers up front and 5mm slip on spacer in rear

I am probably going with racing beat springs and that's it. I will not slam it or get coil overs because it's my daily and I won't need it slammed for my commutes. I do plan on lower in just right.

You should get a set of Ground Controls and adjustable shocks. Doesn't slam it, but gives a decent height and I'm on gross 15's. Just a thought?

Looks good as is, the suspension isn't sitting weird or anything, I'd leave it. Fix whatever is BROKEN, but leave everything else that works. Wheels are a nice touch. Remember, this thing is original and clean...let's keep it that way.

This week end I will removing everything from the lower intake manifold on up.
-stripping and repainting oem peripherals
-redo all vacuum lines with silicone vacuum hoses
- new gaskets everywhere
-pulsation dampner delete
-new plugs
-new fuel filter and new fuel injectors

I also wanted to do a comparison on gas mileage I got 267 miles to the tank the way the car sits. I will then do a after test . The car didn't pass smog and was due to too much in unburnt fuel
So I can't wait to see the numbers now!

Look at those numbers!!!!

Those injectors came off a 80k mile FC . Stock injectors are 460cc one of the injectors was at 322cc!

Also they were all leaking but one. Which can lead to high idle ,strong gas smell, fouled plugs, flooding.......hello how many fc owners have dealt with pullling the fuse to clear it lol. When you shut your engine off the pressure in the lines make the injectors leak even though the engine is shut off.

That can also be a a perfect candidate for a blown motor due to fuel starvation while on load.

I only paid $70 for the service of 4 Injectors i fuiguer i pay this now and get to save on 3 pump fills because I am not wasting fuel.

I used 2 cans of VHT vinyl and trim gloss black paint. 1.5 coats on the tails and .5 coat on trim.
