90 Turbo 2 Project "nostalgia"

After 10 years I knew it was time for me to get another Turbo Fc. The past few years I have been watching the prices slowly but surely creep up and knew that if I wanted on I needed to do it soon. I wanted a good starting point, so i started the search with very strict ideas on what I wanted. No rust, gd interior and most of all gd engine (the AC even works) I plan on keeping this car for a while so its going to mostly be a restore with OEM parts and tasteful mods. I really want to build the FC I always wanted. That being said I was lucky enough to find a incredibly mint turbo 2. Mostly stock little to no rust and in need of just maint parts. The car had 3 previous owners and the owner seemed knowledgeable. The goal is to get it refreshed with as many OEM parts I can find and keep it clean and functional.

Fresh off the trailer

First wash

Engine bay looking stock!

Alignment time

Mazdatrix aluminum neck!

Undercarriage cleaned up

All the documentation!

Even original sales receipt!

Ohhh that interior

Found some Agx’s and tanabe springs for 100$!

Nervous on the first drive lol

Things are starting to come together, finally got my momo steering wheel in. I ordered the 5705 momo adapter but it was out of stock so I had to go with a EBay boss kit. If it doesn’t work I’ll go with the works bell and just fork over the money.
the shift **** I ordered is just about perfect for the interior. I wish it was a little bigger but it looks perfect. Anyway on to the pics.

Finally got the Momo steering wheel on. The eBay hub adapters does fit but feels light. Also the supplied horn ring for the momo wheel does not fit the hub. It is to large. I plan on waiting for the momo hub to come avail and then switching them out.

This stuff is magic! Previous owner had changed the fluid but I guess had used a generic 75w-90. After putting this in it’s quieter, does not grind and shift are so much smoother. Highly recommend it still after all these years.

Took the 7 out to cars and coffee in Nashville. Surprisingly I was the only FC in attendance. Lots of FD’s. Was a gd drive had to turn on the Ac on the way back but she handled it like a champ.

Looks great, nicely done. That metal water outlet is worth it's price. The plastic one is a ticking time bomb...

Thank you sir! ironically they are nothing special, I think they vrs or something like that, the offset was what i originally setout as the most important part of what I wanted. They flow with the car so well. Funny story, the interior is as
i wanted it when I was younger but couldnt afford it. This car is basically about just that...making that dream i had long ago a reality.
