S5 engine mods to fit FB

I picked up a car that the PO installed a S5 engine in but did not complete the project. It is installed in a SE.
I have 99% of it back together but have one last thing.
My last task is mounting the fan.
It appears the SE fan spaced hub does not match the S5 water pump flange bolt holes.
Do I need to get a spacer hub from a S5?
Any help appreciated.

Sounds like you'll need an S5 fan.

Ok, thanks. I wondered if the SE fan and hub would work. Guess not

The 85 and older fans have a double hub shape while the 86 and later have a single hub. Also different lengths.

I've personally installed an S4 waterpump and S4 fan in a 1st gen. They fit pretty well but you gotta pull the studs from the waterpump and set them in the holes in the fan, then install the fan on the waterpump hub, line up the holes, and thread in the studs with fingertips.

I recently get an S5 fan to play with. Test fitted on an S4 waterpump, and while it looks like it will work, it would need shorter studs or just go with bolts. I was in a hurry and had a decent S4 fan nearby so I went with the tried and true setup instead. I'll revisit the S5 fan if/when the S4 stops working correctly or if I need it for some other project.

We need photos and Details Please! I have an SE in need of a new engine and an upgrade to an S5 sounds great. I'm scared to death though of all the wiring I would need to do. Are you using the S5 computer and CAS as well?
