Interested to see how this car turned out? You guys must be shooting for X class? We might be racing you in our 1980 rx7 at buttonwillow in april if your going.

I like the SE swap, we are debating doing it because it will probably put us into exception class and we'd like to stay in the normal chump class. Open diff not awesome though =(

I haven't paid super close attention to everything they are doing but from what I saw there wasn't anything that would put the car in Lemons X class (which BTW is no more starting in 2013, only A, B & C classes. Former X cars will get put in A and get laps) nor get it put into EC with Chump. X class cars are the ones like the Metro Gnome that's a Metro with a big bike engine or the Model T GT which is basically a tube frame with a model T body hung on it. You needed to do very substiantial changes to end up in the old X class. The V8 swapped RX7s weren't put in X. EC class for chump is pretty much all SCCA or NASA full race cars (i.e. M3's and Spec Miatas). Swapping in SE parts won't get you changed in class, maybe and just maybe it's enough to move you from Class B to Class A in Lemons. The head of Lemons tech even will tell you how to do the SE rear end swap and which front spindles to swap in to get the beefier ones.
BTW, I didn't see this car at Chump Fontana so my guess is that it isn't done. They expressed an interest in doing Chump only whose next California race is Laguna Seca on Easter and then a 24 Hours race at Buttonwillow. I'm not sure how a team would feel about doing a 24 hour race in their rookie event. I don't think Lemons has decided yet if their Buttonwillow race will be 24 hours. We'll be doing Lemons Buttonwillow and I'm not sure if we're bringing the Imp, the XJ12 or the Mazdarita. I already secured a garage (I think garage #3) so if you see any or all of those cars in the garage, stop by and say Hi.
