Hey Jeff, you've got a good point. What I was calling the "assist piece" is actually the side piece. I'll go make the edits so that folks don't get confused in the future.


For updates, the motor is built, unfortunately I won't be able to make a big detailed post on it the way I did with this and the front-engine assembly. I did the assembly of the engine after work one night and it got too dark for my camera to capture pictures properly. I'll wait until I reassemble the front-of-engine part and install the front pulley and distributor and then post what I have. While I would like to have done a detailed thread on it, I wanted to get it done while I had a short bout of good weather and some time, and that evening was the best time I had. I wasn't too worried because Aaron's thread covers engine assembly in awesome detail.

For detailed engine assembly pictures, refer to Aaron Cake's thread mentioned earlier in the first post.
