I also brought up an old thread for the carter fuel pump install by Kenetsu, and he bolted it up on the frame rail, right by where the check/cut valve is located. I can do that as well, but the pump will hang a little, unless I get that check/cut valve out.

And as far as the harness goes, I believe all those wires you mentioned are on the other part of my harness. There may be a couple that are not.

Whats weird is that my friend who needs this has the plug for this harness on the driver side, and the hole on the passenger side is non-existent. On my car, there is a hole on both passenger and driver side with harnesses that come out. They link together though.
your friend has a Series 2, there is no hole on the passenger side, and you have a series 3, and no, you don't have the wires I mentioned unless you've got that engine bay harness in the pic(or at least I didn't when I swapped my motor from a Series 2 shell to a series 3).

Well, the archive thread about the dash removal does a good job of mentioning how irritating it is, but it seems I'm a bit more irritated that it explains. The panel under the glove box wont come off because of one screw that wont break loose at all, and I cant seem to pull out the instrument cluster. Got the speedo cable off, and what seemed to be the one for the tach, - I figured it would be able to slide out after that (at least enough to get the last connector) but I cant even get it over the little ridge it's placed behind. This is driving me nuts! It's one of the last things I really need to do to stitch the interior together, and of course I'm getting hung up on it.

Well, I finally got the damn dashboard out! It took me a few hours, I was stumped for like 45 minutes, forgot to unbolt the steering column from the dash frame. After that, it was all good. I set the new one in there, but haven't bolted it down or anything - I've had enough of that thing for one day. Tomorrow I should have it put back in and have the seats in. All I need after that is a set of good door panels or re-upholster mine.

Love that burgundy dash getting the finger.

That intake manifold is nice too!

^Dash was not burgundy, but it was a P.O.S either way!!

Time for another update. I finally started putting the motor together today. All went well until we got to putting the oil pan on. I read a few swap threads, and what was required, but I must have missed the part about needing a GSL-SE or 12a rx-7 pickup tube as well. So we took the ball down to the 5 yard line and got tackled . That kinda sucked ***, but oh well. Dash is all put together as well, seats are in, interior is basically all stitched together.

The porting - we used the pineapple racing template for intake and exhaust. Actually kept the n/a exhaust sleeves and just ported the baffling out as well.

I didnt have too much of an issue with the dash, except if I dont re-assemble something shortly after I take it apart I will forget how exactly it goes together. Another problem was one of the connectors from the air logicon was cut from the harness, and it took me forever to find my wire crimpers (couldn't find soldering gun either, although I doubt I could have accomplished that in the cramped area I was in). Other than that it was just somewhat time consuming.

Well, I got the motor in today....kind of. I always knew the motor mount was going to need to be drilled out to accommodate for the larger 13b engine, but it's more of a pain in the *** than I wanted to believe. So I said **** it, I'm ordering a freakin mount from mazdatrix.

Anyhow, here's pics

So, I have a question. This hard line for the coolant, that runs to the heater core - it has one hose that goes into the core, and one that goes toward the driver side, running along the firewall. I dont imagine that goes to the engine, does it? I am thinking the coolant passage right under the oil pressure sensor goes to the other heater core input. So what do I do with that hose that runs along the firewall, block it?

stock that car had the beehive, so the heater hose comes out of the block, and T's out to two hoses, one goes to the heater, and the other goes to the oil cooler, and then to that pipe

shop manual is at foxed.ca

Ended up taking a peek at my buddies SA earlier, and what you say makes sense. It has an oil cooler, and that hard line only goes into the heater core, does not have a "t" in the line.

And yes, I know about the FSM there. Is it just me or is their server slow?

Apologies for the lack of updates. They car is about 95% complete. I didnt realize the sensor plugs on the back of the water pump housing and the oil level sensor are different from FB to FC. I now need to get those. Got my oil cooler mounted and new line made, radiator is in, dizzy, plugs, wires, etc. All I need to fire it up really is some gas, and some oil injectors. I had a set, but think I tossed them. I tried to get some bolts for the intake manifold to block them off but I dont know the thread pitch. The info in the 2nd gen archive is incorrect about oil injectors. So until I find those oil injectors, or find the thread pitch, thats one of the only things holding me back.

You can buy block offs for the nozzles. That engine will smoke like a freight train on the first start. That's a LOT of Vaseline, lol.

Actually my friend was over here and I found the oil injectors. I just need to vacuum cap them and I'm good to go. I know it's going to smoke a lot. I think I'm going to need to get the exhaust finished before I fire it up so my neighbors dont complain to the HOA as well. So thats that I guess

Nice build.

Not to get off topic but speaking of smoking engines; I once thought it would be a good idea to put that oil additive that supposedly fixes worn piston rings directly into the intake chamber through the spark plug holes on my 13B. The cloud was so thick and so large it completely covered the Autozone parking lot and part of the highway next to it.

I'm sure a little vaseline won't be THAT bad.

So my newest update: My car pooped on me again. The driveshaft that came with the car does not seem to have the same bolt pattern as the rear end. It fits into the transmission just fine, but not the rear end. I suppose I could drill new holes into the driveshaft, but I get the feeling that isn't too smart. Also, purchased a OMP block off from Atkins, and lost it. Cant find the title either. I need to do something about my organization skills

that intake u got from rotary shack... how much was it and how do u like it? i have a short side mount intake for my weber sidedraft and it just juts off of the side of the engine towards the fender and i really dont like it.. and looking to get something like yours. also all of the cables are too short to reach it way over there so i had to fab some stuff up and im not too fond of that either
