I think what he was getting at was just for inside the frame its self. Does any one know any thing about this Hot start assist? I was also wondering how hard is it to change the clutch slave cylinder? It also seems like I am running really rich just by the sent of my exhaust and tips?

the hot start assist is on the drivers side strut tower with a cable on it running to your carb. remove it. slave cylinder isnt too hard to change. look at your plugs to see if your running rich

How do you tell from the plugs? Plus, thank you for the other information.

As of right now I had to quit my job because of school and work fighting over me. So, I just started t this new place, so I should be able to work on it a little more. I have replaced the Clutch slave and I now have an e-brake. Next thing I want to get fixed is my exhaust leak.

BTW---wish me luck it well be snowing where I am in Minnesota in the next 2 days so wish me luck. if there is any advice PLEASE put it below. THX

hot start assist

sorry to revive an old thread - trying to make use of the search function.

can someone help show me a picture of their hot start system installed/mounted on the car? i have an 84 GSL. attached is a picture of it installed on mine, but the cable has too much slack, and i think might be mounted wrong. Also - i'm missing the 'pin' that holds the cable attached to the hot start assist.

is the hot start assist different from the 'start assist system' that i saw in the parts catalog? in the parts catalog it looks like it should be mounted upright and not sideways?

my part is super old - i read earlier in this thread that you don't need it - can you let me know if i need to remove anything from the carb or can leave it just 'unhooked'?

one more question - does this affect idle at all after the car is started? can't really find much info on this and seems like most people remove it. thanks all.
