My 1985 Mazda RX7 from Australia!
Hi everyone,
Joined awhile back but havent posted up my car. I am from Victoria, Australia. This is my series 3 1985 Mazda RX7. The last of the 1st gens in Australia. It runs a 12A, still pretty much standard mechanically except for a Racing Beat air cleaner, twin Davis Craig thermo fans, Racing Beat exhaust system and upgraded suspension throughout.
Wheels are Enkei Turbo Mesh for those wondering. Very rare being around 30 years old. 4x114.3 (Series 3 has this PCD) 14x6+15 and 14x7 +10, fully restored by me recently. Its quite an aggressive fitment but it sits just as I want it to without scrubbing!
Goal is to have a reliable and fun rotary, a drivers car without going crazy. Still have some plans for more parts from Racing Beat down the track
Cheers, Tommy

Also, heres my new recent addition. 1985 Mazda GC 626 Magnum turbo coupe. Only a handful left in Australia. Did a little bit of work to her, mainly tidy up but heres how she looks at the moment.

Welcome Tommy! Mint condition RHD 1st gen.. I'm jealous haha. Nice set of cars and really diggin the 1st gen. Never seen those enkeis before, but I like them. Just recently got the car then? Whats the plan for it?
Thanks guys
Ive had the car for around a year now, bought it nice condition, just put my own touch to it with everything ive done. Dont plan to modify the engine at this stage since standard RX7s are very hard to come by over here. Its very tempting to go crazy on a rotor haha. Although I might look into improving the CFM from the standard Nikki carb.
Steering wheel is an Italvolanti Formel 350cm. Its a nice wheel, fits perfect in my hands. NOS from the 80s. I think theyre pretty big in the BMW and euro car scene. If anyone knows Initial D, Takumi had one on his AE86 :P

In Australia we never got the GSL-SE, they were all powered by the 12A carby non turbo. From 85 onwards its a Series 3, so they looked slightly different, disc rear brakes, better diff, 4x114.3, better interior trim and minor exterior differences.
Splitters are not OEM :P Its an 80s feature i liked and havent seen done on an RX7 so sourced some NOS 80s Formuling windsplitters. They do get a bit of attention and people love or hate them. I also agree, I think the wheel centres need something to make them stand out a bit, not sure about the gold, but maybe I will go over them with a hand brush and a different colour, suggestions?
