Man, these old cars can only make you chuckle sometimes.
So I've been having issues with my headlights. All other lights work, the pop ups works, but no headlight/high beams..
The combo switch and arm seem to be not engaging as smooth as it should, only one click and not two clean clicks. The previous owner had the headlights wired to a switch to get around this. But I didn't want to go this route, I like things original and working where possible, esp in the interior..
So I ordered a used combo switch on eBay, and this afternoon was going to install it, but decided to try the lights again (for the 100th time) and voila!! Turned on first try , so I got a spare :p

I'm really loving driving my first rota
Boost comes on as early as 2500rpm.. Even in 5th she gets going quick, only got to ~10psi (wastegate pressure) once in 5th @ 3800rpm on a long highway pull feathering quarter to half throttle in boost (loving the sound and power surge). Engine only has ~100 miles on it and first 60 or so she never saw boost. But driving her every night, miles are clocking up quick. Gonna keep it under 5k till about 200 miles and change the oil and then start taking it up to 6k occasionally till 500 miles and another oil change. Then I'll start doing some 10psi pulls till 7000rpm till the 1000km or so and then Dyno time.
Diff was making a horrible noise. So flushed it a couple times (literally bought 4 1/4's of 90# oil) and added 2 bottles of amzoil lsd diff treatment and the noise has gone down quite a bit. But still unnerving.. So I am looking for a new ring and pinion and a shop willing to do the job and do it right.
Also had a .5amp drain on my battery. Traced it to the engine fuse, pulled that sucker out and voila, engine starts, and everything works, ok but the engine dash warning lights don't come off. (Oil, water, volt, brake and door) but the engine starts much easier and there is no drain, so gotta get an electrician to look at that circuit.
Other than that, I wish I didn't have so many elderly ppl living next door or I would be going for allot more drives

Damic, I'm running a Haltech E6K
Craaazy, It's the 95-2000 electric power steering pump. In the below video i just had it wired directly through a circuit breaker, but now have it on a switch in the centre consul and a relay near the pump etc.
Wiring up is pretty straight forward. you can mount them in any orientation. They originally use a speed sensor to adjust the pressure, but I haven't done all that, but it can be wired in to the haltech pretty easy.
lots of info and inspiration from the honda guys here - P/S into K20 EG Writeup... - K20A.org .:. The K Series Source . Honda / Acura K20a k24a Engine Forum
My steering box can't handle the pressure LOL, it's leaking slowly. about table spoon each spirit drive/day. It's on a switch now so I'll see if turning it off in traffic or on the highway makes much of a different.
I need to install a PS cooler as well, the fluid reservoir get pretty warm to the touch.

Mariah Widebody
Thank you for sharing this fine build im doubly inspired to complete my project now!! I have a 79SA with a Mariah widebody as well it had a draw through turbo with dual weber dcd carbs it ran so amazing but issues with smoke from oil drawing through the turbo and tuning dual carb challenges prompted me to also do a t2 implant which i havent finished yet anyhow this thread is older but very helpful and my car is like yours ugly twin!
