Having a blast building up my 7
I haven't been on here for sometime. I bought my RX 7 Pro 7 racecar back in 2010. The car had sat for two years and I didn't have time to get the car to the track till 2011. Ran it at Thunderhill raceway 3.1 miles course. I had problems to sort out the fuel pump went out so I had to replace that then the Alternator went out. I did have fun racing the car but needed to make some repairs and modifications for the next time out. I don't have a lot of money to run the car so I can only run the car one weekend a year because the track is almost 300 miles one way from home. I ran the car again 2012. I had modified the intake made a header and made the Nikki carburetor to mechanical secondary's. At the track I ran the car played with the timing and setting up the chassis. The car got faster every time. I retired from work this July 2013 so I didn't run the car at all but have been doing a lot of work on the car. This winter I will rebuild the engine I have ported it using templates from Pineapple racing from their race port. I have fabricated an intake for my Weber 44 IDF carburetor. I fabricated a rear NASCAR style spoiler and a front aluminum air dam and splitter. The car should have three times the HP. I will run ceramic Apex seals from Pineapple racing Aluminum flywheel etc.

Here are more pictures some are as I was fabricating the intake. The aluminum intakes all draw from one venturi for the front rotor and the other for the rear rotor. They call for a Weber 48 IDF but I have taken a smaller 44 IDF but my intake draw from both venturis so each chamber will be getting all the CFMs of the carburetor so I should get more CFMs from a smaller carb. I hope to run the car this summer and will post how this works.
