hi all there seems to be a greater power stopping me from getting out onto the roads when i bought the car(1st gen series 2 1981) the passenger side electric window didnt work but i wasnt over concered as it would go onto my winter list but now with no warning the drivers side one has given in ive removed the door card and theres electric getting to it and i can hear a click when i press button but no movement ive downloadeed a rx7 1st gen manual but electric windows are not covered in there
has any one had simular problem and what was needed to solve it or a manual that includes electric windows
its a pressing problem has car wont go through nct without working window on a better note the door inside with the card removed does nt seem in too bad a condition i was expecting it to be very rusty but was quite happy also im living in ireland so being able to close the window at a moments notice is very important

I had a similar issue on my driver side window. I used while grease to lube things back up. I gave a little pull up on the window while pressing the switch and up she went. After working the window up and down a few times she was fine. I also cleaned the window track. I hope the helps and I wish I could have replied sooner. I haven't been on here in a while.

thanks for reply i eventually sorted them out and very happy with both windows now i posted what i did in (electrics ) thinking about it now probably should have kept posting on this thread
its quite strange but even though not getting any driving done at moment im realy enjoing dealing with all these small problems
at moment im trying to get round to fitting a radio and getting ariel working
but only get short spells when i can escape to the garage and tinker unnoticed
