I see what u did there doogy...shaved and tucked the SA rear bumper. good idea, will have to keep that in mind.
was finally able to install the new walbro and fuel filter. The new pump is much quieter than the used one I bought. performed the same volume test again to make sure all was good and this pump was able to do 1/2 gallon in about 45 seconds. didn't get the chance to fire her up but am confident that it'll run without any issues again.

I make an in-tank surge setup for FBs --> How to Order
It will give you the benefits of an external surge tank and more, without having to alter your car. Contact me if interested.

Gsl-se tanks have some sort of baffle compared to non gsl-se tanks, at least that is my understanding. But if you are doing serious racing then you may want to include a surge tank in your build. Elwood, u may want to include pics on your site...I'd be interested to see the product if u could post a pic here though.

Internal Surge Tank (IST)
All '84/'85 tanks have a vertical baffle that runs fore-aft at an angle, bisecting the tank. The GSL-SE tanks have a cup (which isn't much larger than a measuring cup) that the supply draws from and the return dumps into. The baffle is somewhat useful; the cup not so much . . .
For my system, you need a non-GSL-SE tank, since that little cup interferes with the unit (or you could remove the cup from your GSL-SE tank).
If you go to my website and click on the application for the car, you'll see a full installation manual with pictures. I added laser engraving after I made the manual, so any new units would look like the two attached here without the fuel tank.
I haven't made one for the earlier year FBs yet, but it wouldn't take me long to do it.

went on a short drive this past weekend. fuel pump change definitely fixed stumbling issue.
as for the caliper, i switched the pads from one side to the other. also was able to compress the piston on the passenger side but unfortunately that made it worse so went ahead and ordered a rebuilt caliper from the auto store. will change it out once the part comes in.

Caliper was not the issue. Ended up needing to bed the rotors/pads (I thought the previous owner had done this before I bought the car). Braking issue is now solved and am now able to go to DGRR safely. The very last thing on my list is to aim my headlights which I'll do sometime this week.

spent a few hours last night installing black carpet into the car. not a fun task and not one i want to do again if i had a choice. i ended up cutting the carpet down the middle so that i could tuck it into the center console without having to remove the dash (i would not be installing the carpet if i had to do this).
was bored during lunch today and decided to have some fun with plastidip.

i believe i've mentioned it here before...i dropped engine hoist on my car which damaged the paint a little. was going to repaint the headlight cover, hood, and fender but didn't want to spend the money (since i had to buy a new pump, pre-filter, etc). this is what i came up with...a little ricer but i'm okay with that.

hey steve,
it was great meeting you as well. nice putting a face to a screen name. and that rx8 of yours is a beast w/ the REW (one of my favorite rx8's now that i've seen it).
i'm debating whether or not to put the REW in now. i may hold off on that project and just learn how to properly drive the widebody so may be looking at track days...there's no point to having more power when i don't know the handling limits of the car.

Ya we stayed in a big cabin about 15min from the village. It was sweet!! Hot tube, pool table, grill.... Slept about 10 people. We set it up for ohiorotaries members, but anyone could've stayed. It's always a great time out there!
