The wheel polishing is inspirational!! The pics of all the tiny parts in the carb rebuild just gave me a headache, not looking forward to that project

waxed the car today and put the newly re-finished rims on the back. still need to put new valve stems on the front rims before they go on.

spent about 15min on breaking the bead on the front wheels by hand to replace the valve stems. it was actually pretty easy! now the front wheels are on. pics tomorrow if it's nice out.

Wheels look good, what grits did you use before hitting it with polishing compound?

for the face i used 220, 400, 1000 and 1500 on the lip i used 100, 220, 400, 1000 and 1500

i posted a thread in the lounge with other rims and the process i used on them

Nice looking ride! I have basically the same car...LOL I found mine near me and got it cheap. I have it running, but all stock now. Gonna have to get my carb issues worked out or get another and clean out the unwanted crap. I am not well versed in these cars and hope I can get it done before I run out of cash. Mine has 218,000 on it and the motor seems to be in good shape. I just need to get it running right!

nice find man mine has about 203,000 miles on it now! i'm also working on carb/ fuel pump issues, but it still drives pretty good as it's my daily

not too happy with my car right now!

i've replaced my carb twice (both rebuilt) and replaced all the intake gaskets and sealed everything, but i still have a stutter when the peddle is first pushed as if there is a vacuum leak....... that i cannot find

having a lot of trouble with the car today... i was having some stuttering issues and i finally fixed them today, but now the car is back to idling at around 2000rpms. this is my daily driver and it's not easy to drive it all the time at 2k idle

found an 85 fb in the junkyard so i got some much needed parts out f it.

ashtray mount

non-broken vent fins....... all in good working condiion now


also replaced the broken rear marker lens, dimmer switch, hood release cable and rear trim piece on drivers side.

going back tomorrow to pick up the rear tail lights, clutch slave and a few other random pieces.
