20B Swap into my 85 GSL
Hello everyone!
I'm currently trying to finish my 20b (B series) swap. It's been over a year since I started this and you'll know how it goes: family, home projects, other car projects, etc.!
Well, for the past 3 weeks or so I've been working the most I can to get this car running before November. I don't know how I'm going to do it, but I'm going to do it! I'll need some words of encouragement and as much help/advice as I can get to make this happen
I'll be moving to Germany mid next month and I want this car running before I leave. Unfortunately I'll have to leave it in storage while I'm gone for years...
Two of my biggest hurdles and i'm sure for everyone else doing this swap has been the oil pan and subframe. Thanks to a few folks from this forum, I was able to fabricate similar set ups for mine. The oil pan, I had to cut and weld to make it fit. The subframe I fabricated using the existing frame, flipping it over 180 degrees and welding some extender to serve as mounting points.
Here's a pic of how the engine looked a few days ago and how it looks today!
Things I'm waiting to arrive this week are: bosch fuel pump AN check valve fitting, racing beat 2" piping for headers, racing beat pulleys
Things I'll be doing this week to the car is to complete the fuel system set up, start building the headers (will need some help) and wire up alternator, starter and power supply to the ECU (Haltech E11V2). I may need to start fitting the drive shaft so I can get that done next week.
FYI, I had started a build thread last years, but since so long has past, I decided on a new thread. Please feel free to click on the link below to see how my car started. I'll also be posting from time to time pics on facebook/ "3 rotor engines" page.

Today even in the rain pulled out the engine and back in: When the stock pulley was removed the guiding pin fell off, so part of the reason the engine needed to be removed was to correct this and install this racing beat pulley. Here you can see how the engine is mounted into the engine. This idea I got from another member from Australia, at least the idea cause his is much nicer and cleaner. I did the fab work myself as well.
Here you can see the oil pan for over the sub-frame! Seeing this brings joy to my heart!!😍 so much work and elbow grease just for these two pieces to work and fit right!!

Today I also dropped of the racing beat alternator pulley to get bored out to fit the much larger 20b alt bolt, which is ready, so tomorrow I'll be picking this up. Also got these pieces made to help me hold on to the header pipes. The 2" pipes are about 1/8" smaller than the holes of the RB plate.
And sorted out all my AN fittings for my Bosch fuel pump. Tomorrow I'll try to install this bad boy.
Lots more work coming this weekend!!
Stay tuned, I'm on a mission!!! To start this engine before the 1st of November!!!!

Rained a lot this weekend so only worked on the project a few hours today. Finished my draft tranny brace:

Bottom view
I had tacked welded this months ago, but finally got to weld it up all around. I'll have it sand blasted tomorrow, so it can be sprayed. I used some angled iron, square tubing and a piece of rubberized tile between the tranny and brace ( for now).
Started tinkering with header positioning...
Any tips on how to go from 3 to a 2 pipe flange? like the one below:
I'm really having a hard time figuring out how to merge the rear two pipes into one...I'm really hesitant on making any cuts as I don't want to waste materials. lol Just want to be sure on how to make this happen.
Re-did the battery harness and used an FC fuse box instead...still missing one 20amp fuse. Who else has this mod?
