1985 RX7 Single Turbo Build...
I bought this car when I was 17 in 2001 I believe. I drove it as it was for a while not knowing what it really was... Over the last few years I have really started to build it. I am going to go through my pictures and try go through what all did to it as best as I can.. IF anyone can explain how to get photos to appear in the thread let me know please...
This is what she was when I started...

IT was a bit rusty when I got it..... I put on KYB shocks, new tie rod ends pitman arm, idler arm, brakes.... swapped the rear end for an LSD and disc brakes... sandblasted and repainted the rear end and drive-shaft as well as the strut assemblies...

MSD Coils.. Pulled motor again... front torington bearing dropped while installing dual belt pulley setup from RB. Make sure you have your assistant keep the clutch held in until the pulley is completely in place... haha. Also put another used tranny in it.. got mine rebuilt... at first it didnt have 5 and R so i had to take it back out and back to the shop.. then after i got it back i lost 3 and 5 after about 3000 miles... so i just stuck a used one in it from a parts car... this one lasted me tons of abuse and up till this last fall... starting to grind now.. can hold up to the turbo.... i will get to that here soon... also installed a centerforce dual friction clutch which was awesome... until turbo...then started to slip... i got pics here somewhere

next i believe(not 100% sure on the order of all of this) i put on the 47 OER Japanese racing carb. this is basically a work-alike of a weber. it actually is fitted with Webber idle main jets and e tubes. Also I installed the one piece intake manifold.... Since I installed the carb, I have kind of had a flat spot and haven't gotten it tuned 100% This did add a great deal of acceleration however.

Also I made my exhuast. This was the first time.... 2.5" mild steel, flowmaster super 40 underneath and an ebay stainless with 5" tip on the rear.... This was before I got the MIG conversion kit for my dads welder. MIG is so much nicer!!

OH and you can notice at some point in there i removed my trim and shaved down the marker lights so they have a lower profile... also at some point i attempted to paint my hood.... it turned out all right but i didnt sand it smooth enough in some spots and must have had some oil residue or silicone residue on the corner because it had small imperfections and fish eyed.. however it looks much nicer than the rusty and faded hood...
