Well those instructions had me a bit confused as well. In my head I can see either direction for the mounts being acceptable. In other words I don't know what to do
Thus, being good in your end given that direction, I may change to that way after some testing with the other direction.
Awesome work man, love the tenacity and careful documentation.
I appreciate it. This 7 was my first ever non-running car that I bought, and I really wanted to see it through. I've got 900 miles clocked on the 12a now and its just a blast to drive. My dad drove it for the first time last night, and it brought back memories from when he drove one in the 80s.
Since my last post, I have done some much needed leak sealing/prevention.
I rented a coolant pressure tester, and tightened a connection on my upper rad hose where it was leaking at 15 psi.
I found out that my pedestal was cracked, and that the O-rings were bad. Pulled that old sucker off, and tossed on another OEM pedestal that I have from my OG 12a.

I used new O-rings from a Harbor Freight Viton assortment pack. I am a bit skeptical as the kit was only 10 bucks, but these O rings seem to fit perfectly, and are not flattened at all like the previous 4. Let me know if you guys think Its okay if I run these Vitons for a bit(pictured). I figured they should hold up to coolant temps just fine.
The 7 is finally not leaking anything, and is about to hit 1000 miles on the rebuild. I am going to drive it 1300 miles to San Diego, and then to Phoenix AZ after that. Lets see how she holds up
