Velocity was limited, as the current alignment is set up to teleport me into a different dimension. 50mph was the limit. I also average 4.5psi peak on the T04b. which seems low for the turbo. Oddly enough I have no record of boost over 5psi. Average peak boost is 4.5 psi. At this time the rebuilt engine is still in a break in period and I haven't flogged on it yet. I have done a few brisk acceleration runs to about 50mph. that peaked at 4.5 psi. Boost managed through MAC valve and the Aux ports functional as well. There is a cathartic feeling seeing the Aux port engagement on the data logs. I have a 7psi spring so I feel I should have seen more. Changing things up intake wise will smooth out the charge pipe travel. I can get a more efficient IC... Slight setback, but not by much. It may also solve some small inconveniences I backed myself into a corner with as well.

i wouldn't worry about boost just yet, get the AFRs and timing tuned at 4.5psi, and then look to turn it up.
These seats have been my biggest challenge. The learn as you go. learning the sewing machine. For example, building an engine are machined parts that , in simplified terms… fit or they don’t. I wish I could have bought new quality seats. But by the time I was done getting a price it would be an average of $3-4k . So here I am. There will be flaws. Hopefully nothing to glaring.
With some fighting and more error than trial, I’m about 80% done on this back. Should had started with the bottom. Less complex. But I’m a moron. Some hand stitching left and support anchors. Hope my *** fits.
jealous. when i switched from Ford to Mazda for my racing i bought a new 1983 GSL which was the same soft blue color. what i am really jealous about is the fact your car weighs over 500++ pounds less than my FD. i always remember how light on it's feet it was. i bet it is a wild drive w some serious ponies. love the seats too.
That's one heck of an intercooler, hopefully it resolves those IAT issues you were running into. Any sort of revised timeline for the car or is more just "whenever it gets done"? Looking stellar either way.

Sounds like things are at least looking towards the up and up. Wish him a full and speedy recovery and hope to see your car back on the road in the not too distant future.
You also mentioned a revised manifold; what exactly is going on there? Is this also related to the IAT issue or something else? My apologies if you explained it somewhere up above, a quick glance didn't yield much.
I’ve got drivetrain woes. My kid blew out his ring and pinion so he got my axle and I’m rebuilding his (both GSLSE axles) seems the GSLSE ring and pinions are not as strong as the 3.9:1 because of the tooth count or something like that. I had a lead on a 3.9 but found a MX5 4.1 for a better price. Both should be equal for strength, given both are coarser gearing. I’m leaning to getting an OS Giken LSD and perhaps Panic axles. Anyways… always something.

I read conflicting opinions there. Some say it helps higher rpm power. Others say bullshit. Im also planning on Ceracoting the manifolds

i find this interesting. these sources/discussions were talking specifically about the placement of the secondary injectors?
i'm only asking because i've seen a lot of back and forth over the position of primaries, but i got the feeling there was far more flexibility with secondaries.
Most my reading was based on conventional piston engines. There appears to be a bump in power from moving the throttle. Here is a spot from one of the articles
" Moving the injector farther away from the valve (upstream, toward the top of the inlet runner) allows more time for the air/fuel mixture to atomize properly and remain in suspension when air velocity comes up at high rpm. This should improve peak power, but because of poor low-rpm velocity, at the expense of idle quality."
There seems some debate on if there is a cooling effect. While I get the theory.. I'm not sold it works the way some believe. The problem the piston guys have is limiting to one injector per cylinder. We get the luxury of two injectors, which of course takes care of that idle issue. Honestly my injector placement was 100% just the only place it would fit. the mid manifold it was rather interfering with the plenum or was too close to the turbo.
