Success, after lubing up the regulator and scraping a bit of old grease off and applying new grease, the regulator is once again operating smoothly!
This and the starter makes 2 things fixed.... About 1,000,000 left to go to include:
Brakes
Bushings
Suspension
Clutch bleeding
Brake bleeding
Water pump
belts
hoses
Exhaust- found racing beat headers gotta get the rest
etc
etc
etc

Only if you have the system upgraded to use R-134a. I haven't gotten around to upgrading mine on my FB. Nobody seems to want to do it. I'm afraid to ask the Mazda Dealer what they want to do it.

Stereo is fixed... Cleaned up the wiring a bit too. It's an 80's alpine system. I checked the A/C controls and the fan comes on but has a bad knocking noise so probably will need replacing.
What are you guys doing about air conditioners in our cars? I am still pondering what to do. I don't want to end up with a vehicle I will only drive in spring!

Nice work, on the a/c I'm in the process of getting mine to working.so far new compressor, drier, and as soon as it comes in an expansion valve. I'm planning on using 134a because it's easier to get, and my car it's 80 so you would probably have the same system as I do.

I can't take credit for that... The plate came installed on the car. I was wondering if that was stock... Looking around I didn't think so. Then while looking at the plate, I saw Rotary Engineering on it. So I bet that was some type of commercially available plate. They did have to hack up the rear of the dash a bit to get the head unit in properly though.

Well I haven't finished installing every thing yet but I'm hoping to reuse the condenser, and hoses. That's weird my compressor looks just like the ones that are pictured, do you have any pictures of yours?
Oh and I like that radio surround, it I remember right I think I read an old mag that was naming some of the stuff rotary engineering used to sell and seen that as one of them, but I'd never seen one in person. If you were to ever decide to put your car back stock I would be interested it buying that from you.

Rear end is back under the car. Right brakes and drum are back on. Finally got the wheel cylinder for the left side so working on that side now.
Ebay oil cooler lines came in. The fittings are pretty nice. The hose is covered in black vinyl but claims the same specs as the SS ones. They are actually easier to put together with the vinyl cover. They so have some stainless in the core of the hose as well. I got the M18x-10 adapter and 4 straight fitting from the same seller. Total less than $70. I had to order the M16x10 adapters from someone else as they were much harder to find...

Fuel tank sent out to get ReNu treatment. Expensive but will be brand new when done and lifetime warranty. I finally got the old oil hoses off. The front one on the block was a pain. Removed the rats nest and will be powder coating some brackets and stuff tonight.
Looking at sending the fuel sending unit off for repair!

Water pump is in. Powder coating brackets and things around the engine bay. Pulled the A/C compressor off and working on cleaning up the engine bay. Also pulled the rat's nest off.

Some more progress pics... Removed AC components until I can figure out what to do with that! Also powder coated some brackets and painted some stuff that looked a bit rusty black and removed rats nest... Looking much cleaner and neater...

You're making fine progress, sir; she's gonna be a beaut!
I'm always happy to provide a home for any 1980 emissions parts that are no longer needed. Living here in the People's Republik of Kalifornistan, I have to do battle with the smog ***** every two years. Parts can be a challenge.
I would like to get your rat's nest if you're just going to junk it. Good to have spares for those valves, as they do fail from time to time.
If you're replacing stock exhaust, I'dalso be especially interested in the first section of the exhaust plumbing between the thermal reactor and the heat exchanger, if it's in good shape. You rarely find good ones in junk yards - - only used on the 79's and 80's, & the idiot yardmonkeys out here think the heat exchanger is a cat, & cut that pipe to get the platinum (which isn't in there).
Keep up the good work!
